Took a drive up the coast and discovered this gem. Camped out for the night, went hiking, and enjoyed the amazing ocean views in the area. Highly recommend visiting this state park!

I would call the lodge. I doubt if the park is open but you could picnic nearby. The coast near Carmel is beautiful and not as difficult to reach as Big Sur.

I don't think hiking boots are necessary. I had my trail runners they were more than enough.
