Big Sur, one of the most beautiful scenic routes in California. There are several vista points along the routes that is worth stoping to take photos and take a short stroll. I love the wild flowers, they are so beautiful.

We stopped here for a midday break while driving from Pismo Beach to Monterey (with a stop at Hearst Castle) and had some lunch while enjoying the amazing views. A nice break (with restrooms) during a long day of driving.

Watch out for the gas prices ! ! ! This is legally stealing ! So, fill up in Monterey but never in Big Sur. You will feel like a fool and it says "no gas station next 40 miles" ! Monopoly next 40 miles ;-)

Any trail head with flushing toilets gets an A from me. If you're backpacking parking is $5 a night which is a deal compared to other parks.
