We go camping in Big Sur every year. Recently we read somewhere that we might be able to see California Condors from this location. So, off we went to see what we could see. Just north of this turnout there is a smaller turnout. Below is a small sea lion habitat (we could hear the barking). We continued to Grimes Point Scenic Overlook, got out of the car and kept our eyes up in the sky. Sure enough, we were lucky to see a Condor fly by, soaring gracefully below the highway along the cliffs above the sea. Excellent!
