The hike/spot is now on Google Maps but there is no marker on the highway except for the appearance of cars parked along the road. The hike is a short .5 mile hike down a steep path, make a right at the first fork then...More

This place is a little obscure, and I imagine it doesn't get factored into a lot of people's Big Sur itineraries, but that would be a mistake. This is a gorgeous little spot after a cool hike that surrounds you by cliffs (small mountains?) on...More

this is one of the most stunning locations on the California coast, a must to see and stay. Plenty of camp grounds, cabins and beautiful scenery to enjoy for the whole family at reasonable fees

I love the drive along the coast and this is one of my favorite views - so stunning and satisfying. I can't wait to go back, although we in the north will have to wait until the Pfeiffer Bridge is repaired.

The hike down the old road to the cove from Highway 1 is well worthwhile. While there is a climb coming back to the highway, it's an easy hike due to the steady grade of the old road, there are two places to view the...More

There is a trail if you cross the street in the opposite direction and head toward the red woods. You'll find yourself upon a cascading waterfall and magical vistas overlooking the rocks and streams of the red woods.

Glad we were able to find this place with the help of various web sites including TA. There are no indications what is down this dirt, winding road, other than the cattle fence. If you trek down, down, down, down this road, remember you have...More

Yes, but the minister will need to be agile, there is a mile walk down a steep road. .. ...and the same walk up!
