Great Notley Country Park covers some 100 acres of open space, which is managed for the benefit of wildlife and the community. The site was formerly arable farmland and has been transformed into a mixture of wetland and open grassland. Each of these habitats provides a haven for a variety of species. The site is home to Sky Ropes and Essex's longest play trail - 1.2km - including a giant see-saw, climbing forest, tyre swings, sand pits, rope climbers, slides, forts and a water play area (closed in the winter months), making it a great place for all ages to explore. The park is also popular for birdwatching, walking, cycling, fishing, horse riding, football, picnics and kite-flying. Our high ropes adventure is on two levels, so you can choose how high you want to go. Our specially trained staff will kit you out with a full body harness and brief you on safety on the ropes. Your Sky Ropes adventure lasts 75 minutes, including kitting out and safety briefing. As soon as you're on the ropes you can take yourself around the ropes, bridges and beams, choosing your own route and your own speed. It's your challenge - do it your way!

Always a great visit for children of all ages as there is something for everyone. A giant seesaw keeps young teens interested aswell as the 2 or 3 year old. You can follow a circular route and half way round you find a giant sandpit ideal for your picnic stop. Great use of wooden activities, hills and lots of fresh... More

A group of 20 of us spent a very pleasant day wondering around this fantastic place, we have a range of ages and there was something for everybody, we didn't try the big climbing area as it would have cost a fortune with how many if us there were but I don't think we need to as there was loads... Lovely large park, lots of open space so even though the main car park was full and the overflow car park half full, there is plenty of room to find a quiet spot for a picnic or to watch the kids play on one of the various play parks. Free to enter, you just pay for car parking which is... More

Great thing to do with the kids. £10 for 1hr 15. Good safety briefing and then great fun on the ropes: our little one was a bit nervous initially and the staff on the ropes were fab with her. They were also very clear with any kids trying to flout the rules. Booking was really easy online. Would recommend as... More

Visited with 9 and 7 year old. We loved the Sky Ropes experience. Well organised. Able to book in advance for timed slot on website. The 1.2km assault course trail around the park was also great fun and included a huge sandpit and tire swings as highlights. Lots of picnic tables but also good cafe (not that much indoor seating... Spent some time here last week with the grandchildren. Recommended by a friend and what a good day out it was. Apart from parking which can cost £5 for the day - a bargain really - there was lots of interactive play equipment which the children adored. There was a huge sandpit and ropes galore. You had to turn things... More
