Another great Armenian church. Great place to go visit then walk to a neighboroughing village with looking forward tours. If you're short on time Sanahin and Haghbad are more impressive but the monument on the grounds is impressive and the bird life was sweet to watch here.

Odzun church is a bit off the main sights but clearly worth a visit. During my trip through Armenia it was one of the highlights. The deviation of the blocked road between Vanadzor and Alaverdi leads through the village. The church has its fundaments built from the 4th century and is in general a very beautiful architectonic monument. I was... More

This is quite a large church, built in the 5th to 7th century. The outside has some of the original, but weathered, carvings remaining. Furthermore, there is a colonnade on 2 sides on the outside, quite unique in Armenia. Inside there are three aisles, but both side aisles are very narrow. As most churches and monasteries, it is quite spectacularly... More

The most exciting thing is the road to reach it. First: this is the first road that is in very good condition. Second: the strong slope on a superb scenery. The church by itself is nothing so exciting. only a few interesting remains.

A beautiful church in a beautiful setting that hardly anyone visits. Take the bus up from Aliverdi and walk down enjoying the stupendous views

it is a beautiful basilica but i had to take a taxi specifically for this place. Make sure that you come during day time as a local priest is there.

The church is located in Lori Province which is the greenest place in Armenia. The Monastery is very beautiful and unique. But location is just great. I have visited the place for couple of hours but it is a great idea to have an overnight (there are some guesthouses nearby).

Odzun is a major and historic village in the Lori Province of Armenia. It is situated on a plateau above the left bank of the Debed river gorge, about a thousand metres above the Yerevan–Tiblisi highway, a few kilometres south of the town of Alaverdi. It is famous for the 5-7th century Odzun Church, one of the finest Armenian basilicas... More
