Waterfall and picnic area not too far from the city.
Toilets and shower area facilities available.
Some small parking area for cars.
For those who want to do some short hiking so climb up to the higher waterfalls via the staircase pathway.
For the advance you can hike up to bukit unyang which can take 2-4 hours. Its a moderate to hard hike as elevation is quite steep and trail is narrrow and uncleared since this is not a popular hiking route for locals.

Firstly, you need to know that there are 2 major waterfalls. Templer Park is also connected with Hutan Rimba Ulu Kanching which also has a very nice waterfall. Ulu Kanching Forest Reserve and Recreation is in the latter. Once you pay and go into the car-parks (there is another car-park about 70 meters away from the official car-park), you begin your trek up with many other people along the clearly designated trek. The place is crowded on the weekends and public holidays. Once you reach the place where the majority of people are, look out for concrete stairs which lead to a jungle trek which after 100 meters or so of simple and easy trekking, will lead you to level 4 and 5 waterfalls.

Really beautiful place. The climb to the later waterfalls is quite challenging so bring decent walking shoes. It's just a shame that so many of the visitors do not respect their environment and fling rubbish about when there are bins yards away. I took a trash bag and cleared up quite a bit. If everyone filled one bag it would be so much nicer. The air is so clean and swimming under the waterfalls is exhilarating.

Templers park is just 30 minutes drive away from the busy city of Kuala Lumpur.
The enterance is free, and taxi will take RM 75
They call it as a park, but i call it as a jungle (just some animals required). The history show that this jungle is thousands of years old.
If you like the nature, then this is the best place to visit, its so green, natural, quite place to spent a day. To give some good look to this jungle, malaysians have made a fall also, in which you can swim / cool down the heat.
Personally i like this jungle a lot, and i would suggest all tourists who loves the nature, must visit there !!!!!

Cheers

Located less than 4 km away from the more popular Kanching Falls along Jalan Rawang, Templar Park Forest Reserve consists of multi-tiered waterfalls, streams, jungle trails and a natural pool.

It is less visited and has fallen into a state of disrepair and neglect. BUT, if you are after peace and quiet, easy parking, this could be your cup of tea.

I went on a weekend, the place was deserted and parking, ample.

From the carpark, a 5-minute road walk takes you to a sizeable pool that is filled by water directly from the river. From here, a well-marked and signed trailhead heads upstream alongside the river to the waterfall.

It is an easy walk, mostly on flat ground (overgrown in places) with 3 river crossings on zig zag concrete bridges that has seen better days. A mess of fallen trunks made the second bridge impassable, so we back tracked to find an alternative route. At the final crossing, though the last section of the bridge has collapsed, it is possible to rock-hop to the other side.

The first tier of the waterfall has a modest cascade churning over black rocks into a shallow pool. The upper falls are nearby and not difficult to get to. The final tier has a longer cascade and several bathtub like pools. I could not resist trying out the natural Jacuzzi, letting the water churn around me.

Time and distance : The Jungle Waterfall Trail can be completed in 2 hours at an easy pace and is not too difficult for children. Distance trekked is 2km each way.

For the more adventurous, a left trail at the top of the waterfall loops back across three forest streams for another 2.5 km to the swimming pool.

Other activities include picnic and dipping in the pool at the base of the park, though the water did not look very clean. Basic toilet and bathing facilities are available at the Car park area.

No Entrance Fee or Parking Fee!

We went early on a Sunday morning and the park was very quiet, with only a few people there even by 11am. There's a large, deep, fresh water pool for swimming about 100m from the car park which is suitbale for older children if closely supervised. There's a rough track behind the swimming pool (look for the steps) which is about 1/2 mile long by the side of the river (not suitable for stroller or pull along coolers). Follow it, crossing the river 2 or 3 times (via little concrete bridges), and there's the waterfall there which has a large shallow pool at the base which is great for younger kids. Older kids and adults would enjoy hiking to the top of the waterfall - watch out for slippery rocks at the top. Not sure if dogs are welcome in the park. There are trails leading off up the hill from the car park for the more adventurous but these aren't marked clearly but do offer a more challenging option for a tougher/rougher hike for the over 7 years +. Litter/garbage was not an issue on the day we were there. We will go back to paddle and picnic but will avoid weekend afternoons which I suspect are very busy. There were toilets open in the car park and an ice-cream vendor on a motorbike for a cool treat!

Though it is a beautiful nature park but there is no security guard in whole park. Seems like social place for natorious local bachelors. This are unsatisfied speicies of malaysia, even danger then monkeys. Never ever go to this places unless and untill you want to embarrase yourself or you like violence.

My advise never go to this place unless you are one of local community people(T). There are many places where nature is even better. Because of some groups, whole community suffers in malaysia... this is excellent example.

My fav tour in KL. Beautiful
Natural waterfalls. Can yes you can swim in it. Miss the first pool and Go a bit higher, you will see a second, larger and better swimming spot.
Be prepared if you planning to swim. Take extra cloths and towel. Also fair bit of walking up the mountain so wear proper footwear. Lots of monkeys so look after your belonging. Tie it to something.
We were lucky, we took a private limo tour up here (organised through our hotel around 600 myr for 4 hrs or so, can't remember exactly but worth the money) The driver came all the way up with us and look after our stuff while we enjoyed ourselves.
Also along the way their is a place called selayang hot springs. 3 natural hot springs, round well type a meter and bit deep. You can go in, I tried but is very very hot. Some locals were more courageous than we were. Our driver took us there no extra. I guess we paid for the time so didn't matter where we asked him to take us.

This is a beautiful waterfall area. Honestly it's on par with some of our waterfalls here in Australia BUT there is rubbish everywhere! It's the locals throwing it as well, it's not tourists. This place has got so much potential. We went right to the top of the falls, away from any other people and still there was rubbish everywhere, in the water, on the ground etc. People buy their lunch from the bottom and take it up the top and just throw their containers on the ground. polystyrene etc. This is a serious problem here, i even saw workers throw their rubbish in the bush. The management of this place needs to take a hard look at what they can do to fix it up.
