For a unique experience and a very warm welcome, the stunning Wedgwood Museum is the place to visit - whether you just like looking at beautiful objects or have a specialist interest. We are the home of one of the most interesting ceramic collections in the world. Our galleries tell the story of Josiah Wedgwood, his family, and the company he founded two-and-a-half centuries ago. New visitor experience for 2015! As a result, we are closing the site to customers from 24th December 2014 through until June 2015.

The layout leads you through the centuries enjoying the journey and how the style and designs changed. Especially like the beautuful wooden cabinet of drawers showing all the trials which Josiah made when trying to find the right glaze etc.

We visited the museum as we had already booked afternoon tea and a factory tour. Absolutely amazed by the wealth of information available. Very well laid out and child friendly.

What a great experience. We visited today. The museum has over 3000 exhibits, the factory tour is definitely worth it but get there early as places are limited. You can go around on your own but you don't get the explanations of the processes and...More

For anyone interested in ceramics and Wedgwood this museum is unmissable. A wonderful collection well-displayed. My only criticism of the museum is lighting levels/direction - sometimes when reading information panels in front of display cases my own shadow obscured the information. I spent about four...More
