This is a small winery and has groups tour. There was wide selection wines and wines and wines produced from fruits which was my first experience. They offer a tour of the winery for the visitors and tell us about the winery making process, including the crushers as well as the maturing process.
They offer a wide tasting of wines and we tasted 9 wines including fruit wines. The pomegranate wines was my favorite. A nice place to visit. We liked the atmosphere wholly and the information given in the wine tour by the lady. It is located nearly 110-120km far from Yerevan on the left bank of river. The place is small place is really informative and worth to be visited.
There’s a small souvenir shop selling the wines produced there and the pricing was very good. They offer wines for sale, nicely priced.

Very interesting free tour, good gift shop and tasting room. You can try several types of wine for free, and for just 1000 drams (250 rubles) you can taste 12 types of wines and a choice of cognac/vodka. Everything is fine!

Passing tourist spot. A small winery that feels fed only from tourists(
Wine tasting is three wines of 5 drops and one strong alcohol to choose from(
Small type excursion to a small again cellar with three-4 oak and 4-5 clay barrels.
It's all very fast. No story or description of the drink. It's nothing like that. There are only two dry wines from oak barrel-produced grapes. It's actually red and white.
We tried both. Nothing supernatural. We didn't even try wine from clay barrels and semi-sweet and semi-dry liquid.
Afterwards, their specialty store took a bottle of red dry from an oak barrel. They have the only variety.
We had a drink tonight. Wine is like wine. Stars are missing from the sky. Their 2000 drams are quite repulsive. But nothing more.

The first time I was at Hin Areni was for a tasting in August 2022, and then I bought a bottle of reserve, which my family drank on New Year’s Eve. And they appreciated it!!! The taste of reserve is richer and more interesting than the pink one offered during the tasting. It is known that how you celebrate the New Year is how you will spend it, so in August 2023 I again chose an excursion with a visit to Hin Areni, where after the tasting I gladly bought another bottle of pink reserve for the 2024 meeting! :-)

Since we arrived to Armenia we were planning to go and visit this wine factory. It cost us some 100 USD for transportation and 2 hours driving to reach there. The factory settings looks good and well organized to receive guests. There was a lady presented various types of wine, and offered testing several varieties of red and white wine. Things were fine so far. We were a group of 15 and bought 25 bottles. Once we paid and we asked to try another type of semi dry wine. The sales girl started shouting and almost kicking us out!! When we asked why, she said you already bought and you keep asking for other wine to try!! It was, too rude and impolite from her. When I asked her to make her voice lower, she started screaming. I do regret to visit that place, it was embarrassing in front of tourist from many countries.
When we went back to Yerevan. I found that their prices were double than the most expensive supermarket in the town. I do love Armenia and hope people can work better to improve their manners to attract more tourist for this beautiful country.

In this area there are many places to taste wine, this one happens to have a good location (on main road) and regular tourist traffic, for that reason (I'm assuming) they lack the personal touch that the other places have.
I came for Tasting (I had heard of it from Lonely Planet) which was 600 Dram, and the three wines they gave me samples of were pretty good, though the quantities were minuscule.
I liked the white and asked for another glass, that was 500 Dram.
I guess that's an okay price but it's much less elsewhere, though the quality varies greatly around the region. This winery has established itself as a reliable producer, therefore the price is probably merited.

Guides will stop here to let you watch a boring video on local ancient viticulture. You then taste various wine varieties and horrific fruit wines. Nothing of quality can be found here. Save your time and skip this tourist trap.

We were very excited to hear our tour itinerary included a visit to a winery... We're wine lovers of the not pretentious kind and could't wait to hear about wine production in a country with one of the world's oldest traditions of wine making... or at least, try a nice glass and buy a bottle for the way home.
Instead, this was a big tourist trap where we had the "opportunity" to taste about 20 different drinks, including fruit wines and vodka/schnapps. Some of the fruit wines were just about drinkable, none of the reds or the white were. Armenia does some really spectacular wines (amphora wines included, made the way it was thousands of years ago), but you won't find it here.
All reds we tried were essentially vinegar. They seemed to be mostly out to sell their "almost 20 year old wine" to Russian tourists for top dollar (about $20 a bottle) for that show off premium feeling, however, none of their wines are of a quality that benefits from aging. 2012 was equaly poor, it woud have been nice to taste a younger vintage, as I can imagine this can be decent (think cheap but quaffable table wine) when younger.
We had a peek at the cellar/storage and that also explains the poor quality... do yourself a favour and buy any bottle from a supermarket/corner shop in Yerevan and it'll be better. Go to a proper winery and be amazed (although even then, it's hard to compare with French/Italian wines). +2 because they did let you taste a variety and staff wasn't trying to hard sell.
On the other hand, grandmothers along the road just outside sell their homemade stuff, might be a better bet ;)

Our third stop at wineyard tour.
They had dozen different kind of wines and vodkas to taste.
Wines: some of the wines were OK, some of them just OK.
I did not like vodkas - for me they taste like home burn.
The bests: Cherry wine, peach wine - both sweet desert wines.
A lot of tourist - we saw twice bus load of people ... more like factory.
