Brilliant experience going on a two hour trail ride. Very well run, accommodating and the experience was safe but without being boring. The horses were well cared for, in excellent condition and we were thoroughly briefed on each of their personalities and ways they like to be ridden. It is obvious the care they have for their horses. A mixed group of beginners, occasional rider (many many years ago) and regular rider all enjoyed it thoroughly. Hats and boots provided and covid protocols followed.

Superb. As non riders we felt safe at all times. Well looked after horses and professional team. Really nice ride down to river and top of the hill. Extended ride to a two hours and well worth it.

It was an amazing trip. Sarah and here team are super professional, they explained everything very well and the horses were well trained. Even though I did not have any experience I felt super save and comfortable and really enjoyed the trip. I can definitely recommend it.

We’ve had the most amazing time with Sarah riding her beautiful horses! Definitely one of my best experiences! Sarah was very kind greeting us as soon as we arrived and providing with all the necessary equipment! The ride was incredible, she took us along some of the very picturesque places! If we come back to Wells Gray park we would absolutely do it again!

We loved every minute of this ride! We’ve been twice and won’t be our last. Sarah and her crew are so kind and knowledgeable and put any nerves at ease. The scenery is beautiful!

We booked our first trail ride with out friends who had gone riding with Sarah 14years ago. Our group had 2 adults and 3 kids. Both Ed and Sarah were extremely patient and kind. Our family enjoyed it so much that we booked another trail ride the following morning. We figured that it may be awhile since we will be ever up in the Clearwater area so we decided to go again. Our Bernese mountain puppy joined along as well and had a great time running around with Trigg. Thank you Ed and Sarah for a memorable experience!

My son of 9 and I (newbies to horses) were warmly welcomed and appropriately given gentle horses for the 2hr trail ride--through wonderful meadows and a lovely forest trail. I highly recommend Sarah and Ed for an excellent day out. Informative, professional, and friendly. It was a fantastic way to spend quality time in a beautiful area. Thanks to the Shooks, their lovely dog, and the great horses. I got the tip from the visitor centre in Clearwater and would highly recommend this.

Me and my boyfriend took part in a round-up. There were two guides with us, both were very kind and helpful. The horses behaved well and at no point did I feel unsafe. It was really fun to move the cattle to a new pasture.

Two of our friends took part in a river part at the same, they also were accompanied by two guides and were really happy with their experience too.

So, if you want to try trail riding in British Columbia, I wholeheartedly recommend you to get in touch with Vavenby Trail Rides!

This was such a lovely day out. Our trip was for 4 hours, and included lunch. We were allocated a horse, and shown how to hold reins and get on (Western riding is quite different from English style). The ranch is 400 acres, and there is access to other land as well, so we didn't get bored with the scenery! Although we had done a little but if riding before, we were (rightly!) assumed to be novices and that was perfect. The riding was gentle and the horses extremely well behaved. This isn't for those who want to gallop off into the wild west! We stopped at the riverside for a picnic lunch - we had asked for a gluten free and a vegetarian option and Sarah provided in abundance. When we got back, we asked if we could help sort the horses, and it was part of the experience to hose them down and lead them into their field. The whole time was unrushed, pleasant and great value. A lovely day out.
