Ballowall Barrow is quite close to Cape Cornwall and does not take long to visit so can be an add-on. It is approached down narrow roads and while there is no entrance charge the roadside parking is limited. A visit will benefit from clear weather...More

Ballowall Barrow is best seen from above. The website clearly states that climbing the exterior wall is permitted but great care is required, especially in wet weather. My wife and I visited on a sunny day in March and explored the entire barrow. You do...More

The area around is very over grown, all you can see is the base of stones and nothing more exciting to look at. could be protected a bit more.

Unusual burial ground. Very interesting. Easy to find and easy to walk round. History explained on the plaque.

I suggest that there are to main reasons for visiting this site. The first is for its architectural and historic significance, and this is a large and very important Bronze Age burial site. The second reason is its fantastic location, high on the cliffs overlooking...More

Doesn't look much on the map, but definitely somewhere worth visiting! Although the original barrow has been disassembled and changed a few hundred years ago, the sheer size and meaning can still be felt. The views are perfect, even on a cloudy day! And the...More

Confusing Archaeology. Disappointing because of the 19th century interference. Worth a visit to see its location.

Great example of a barrowv(or burial chamber). Loved that we could peek inside. Barrows now make me think of terry Pratchett's NAC Mac feegles!
