Take the narrow lane opposite the cricket club, or a short uphill walk from Cape Cornwall will bring you to Carn Gluze. Here there are great views to Land's End and back to the Cape. Limited but free parking. Alongside the lane is the Barrow...More

Although marked on the map, we hadn't realised that you can clamber all over this monument - situated amidst mineshafts and with glorious views, our children enjoyed exploring this.

Ballowall Barrow is quite close to Cape Cornwall and does not take long to visit so can be an add-on. It is approached down narrow roads and while there is no entrance charge the roadside parking is limited. A visit will benefit from clear weather...More

The area around is very over grown, all you can see is the base of stones and nothing more exciting to look at. could be protected a bit more.

We came across this ancient Barrow (burial chamber) while walking the coastal path a short distance from St. Just. There is an old tin mining stack above it. There was an entrance tunnel which led into the chambered rooms. It was concealed for many years...More

I suggest that there are to main reasons for visiting this site. The first is for its architectural and historic significance, and this is a large and very important Bronze Age burial site. The second reason is its fantastic location, high on the cliffs overlooking...More

Doesn't look much on the map, but definitely somewhere worth visiting! Although the original barrow has been disassembled and changed a few hundred years ago, the sheer size and meaning can still be felt. The views are perfect, even on a cloudy day! And the...More
