Not a bad place to visit if you're close by... If you're a religious person a must visit in the district. The main pooja closed between 12.00-15.00.

There are not many activities, what to do in Rathnapura-buying gems and visit this temple. Temple is popular for budhists and it is interesting for tourists ,too. Aspatialy in the evening, when only few local people are there and no tourists. It is nice, historical and peaceful place for a short stop , when staying in Rathnapura.

Buildings and Chethiya show historical value of the place and lot of locals visits for religious importance. Not much to look. But nice different architecture and building with some murals. There is a place outside but it was closed on poya... More

Most loved place in ratnapura. Even though it's not a temple, still it's a very peaceful place. The annual perahara will held on end of the august, which is much similar to kandy perahara. If possible try to visit on morning before 8am....😊

Since I am from Ratnapura, we used to go and worship the God Saman frequently, This is a very popular sacred place in Sri Lanka located in Ratnapura.Annual Perahara is a must watch and almost like Kandy Perahara. It's not an ordinary temple, It has a very long history.

Samandewalaya is very important and honorable place in Ratnapura. Samandewalaya perahara is traditional festival you need to watch. It has many colorful dances and events.
