I really loved going up to the top of Montseny - about 1900 meters high. You could even see Barcelona from there. Around there you will also find a lot of tracks for walking/hiking.

Bring a jacket, because it is much cooler there due to the altitude.

So many small villages and mountains tops to see! Lots of hidden gems, so fresh to go there after all the mess and heat on the beach, you can find plenty of place to park everywhere. Just a note, be aware about the road, very narrow AND you can meet a lot of cyclists!

Perfect hiking place no too far away from Barcelona. Mountain Lake, perfect views, small waterfalls, it's a nice place to visit.

A beautiful place with amazing views. We chose the shortest path, but looks like we lost the road, it`s not that clear which path you are supposed to follow. But anyway, its comfort for kids to run, amazing valleys with aromatic herbs. In the village of Montseny you will find restaurants, hotels, wine cellar.Great place for a day out.

If you’re up for a fantastic hike in beautiful mountains then head to Viladrau, 1.5 hrs NW of Barcelona (direction Girona). From the main square look in the opposite direction from the Spanish Pyrenees and you will be looking into Parc Del Montseny. Almost at the top of this mountain you will see Sant Segimon. A church tower currently being restored with a group of dwellings. This historic site has a local legend tale of an exiled king held captive in a cell. Private owners have turned one of the most paramount buildings into a restaurant, La Posada (de Sant Segimon). The hike will take you 2.5-3hrs up and something similar back. Trekking through the giant chestnut trees and as you ascend higher then into the large lime green spanned Hague trees. There’s a creek that cuts through about 1hr from the top with waterfall to refresh yourself. I suggest you use a hiking stick (or 2) as it can be rocky and at times a 70%+ grade. Don’t let me put you off as only a reasonable level of fitness is required to enjoy Mother Nature’s magic.
Get out there and enjoy!

Absolutely beautiful. We decided to walk up from the monastery. Should have taken 1.5 hours but took us 5 as we took the longer route but the walk was breath taking. SO worth a visit, whether you walk or take the cable car/fenicular up!
