Picturesque Waterfalls some 45 min drive to the south from Palenque lie in the beautiful surroundings very near Guatemala border. From the entrance (some entrance fee) you follow the path some 200 meters until you reach a series of steps leading some 10-15 meters down to the water. Here is possible to get into water without any difficulty and bath... More

This was very easy to find and close to the main road. Sweet family runs the entrance and small restaurant. Very clean facilities. Well maintained path to walk on to falls. Lots of areas to picnic. Falls and area were very pretty, but not spectacular. Worth a stop if your driving by or need a cool drink on a hot... More

We arrived one hour before closing time and asked them to camp. The people were very friendly and despite they have rooms for rent they let us camp wherever we wanted, so we stayed near the water for $150 Pesos per tent. We swam early in the morning with no people around. The four cascades are great and you can... More

This site is very well organised with lovely places to swim and do zip-lines. The main waterfall is beautiful with picnic areas to enjoy the view and a snack. Toilets are clean and there are eating places at the site, so you don't really have to take your own.

Welib-Ha is literally a cool place. A must go if you have kids that are good swimmers. This place is like a large natural swimming pool in the middle of the Jungle. It is not as crowded as Misol-Haor Agua Azul and the locals have put a number of ropes in the water to play around. When we where there... More

From Palenque town centre I took a collectivo for 20 pesos. It was squeezed full of friendly locals and off I went. You get dropped off a 700m walk from the falls. The path is very evident and the walk is great. 25pesos entrance and there you have one incredible swimming area. There were local families having picnics and the... More

You don't expect it, but the water is warm, so don't be afraid to take a swim. Two long ropes span the river, so you can hold on to them. The current is quite strong just by the waterfalls. Great place to visit for a few hours, perhaps after spending half a day in by Palenque ruins. A sign directs... More

This is a beautiful waterfall with out all the tourist. While not as tall as the other waterfalls - this one has nice picnic areas, hiking trails and really cool limestone pools and cliffs. To get here you pass through small towns and get to see rural Palenque.

If you are looking for an amazing waterfall experience (sight-seeing, great photos, swimming, picnic, romantic or family adventure) but think Misol Ha and Agua Azul are too crowded, this is the place you're looking for. It's only 30 min away from Palenque, on the road to the Lacandon Jungle, it's quiet, it's clean, there are no vendors and their restaurant... More
