Truly an unspoiled natural wonder!

Well worth spending a day or two exploring the hikes, beaches and rain forest flora and fauna. I only wish we had more time to explore.

I read of a self-guided map and CD in the Port Douglas area forums, and decided to try that instead of paying for a guide. I'm sure the guides give a lot more info, but we opted to save the cash. So - we picked up the Daintree Self-Drive Audio Guide from the Wavelength folks in Port Douglas for about... More

The nature of the Daintree was unlike anything we have ever seen before we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.

We drive up to cape trib and went on so many different walking tracks, most of which were boarded and very safe. The whole rainforest is so diverse and every stop offers something different. The walking tracks are filled with information about the rainforest, so plenty of opportunity for education to go with the sheer beauty this incredible place has... More

The Daintree is truly a beautiful place to visit. Whether you see it by flying over or on the ground level beneath the canopy, you can truly immerse yourself in the amazing flora and fauna of North Queensland. As expected, the tropical climate can cause heavy rain and mosquitos, so ensure you have insect repellent when you visit.

We spent a fabulous day here yesterday on a small group tour. A boat ride on the Daintree river spotting crocs and other wildlife, coffee and cake in the rainforest before an hour's walk along the Jindalba Boardwalk learning about the flora and fauna. Then a visit to a beach, a fabulous lunch including steak and tropical fruits, an ice... More

We hired a car and drove up ourselves from Port Douglas. On the way, just before the ferry, we went on a river crocodile tour. There are two providers, to pic from. After taking the ferry across we visited the first board walk and the Discovery Centre. We had lunch at Thornton Beach (you must stop there) then drove up... More

We went a small group and acquired the services of guide who explained many of the native plants as well as their uses as food, medicine etc. Good information about the culture and previous ways of life as it related to the rain forest. A beautiful part of Australia.

So much to see and do, we had a very full day trip. We drove ourselves which was very simple and easy to do. We did a river cruise on our way to the ferry. We were lucky enough to spot more than one croc. The ferry was $26 return. We went to Alexandra lookout, Jindalba Boardwalk, the ice cream... More

It was so wet, and still considered as a dry day. Usually I don't like wet day activities but the park made it all worth the effort. The cruise on the river was so informative, and we saw 1 adult crocodile and 5 young ones, several birds, and plants that can filter salt. Our tour guide Kim gave us a... More
