- nicholas r4 contributionsGood energyWe were last here over 12 years ago and stopped by this long weekend to see what's changed. So glad we did, great food options, some smooth Pinot Noir by the glass and the kids running around on the grass within our full visibility. Was full of good energy, some live music and was a great way to spend an sunny Sunday afternoon.Visited November 2023Travelled with familyWritten November 5, 2023
- CornishJaneCadgwith, United Kingdom159 contributionsLovely lunch and great stafFantastic food and service. We had a reserved table but the maitre de wanted to make sure we were happy with our table as there was a large group nearby an gave us the option of a quieter table (which we selected). The pictures say it all - lovely food and wine and a great way to spend a relaxing lunchtime.Visited December 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten January 20, 2024
- Gerard R2 contributionsWelcoming, excellent food, service and environmentReally wonderful welcome for a birthday booking for six, including my elderly and frail mum. Great assistance with menu, dietary needs and advice about selection. The winery has lots of options for couples, family and friends groups (and functions), with plenty of seating, open grassy areas and fab views of the fields and beautiful Bass coast. The service - considered and knowledgeable - and food are top class, with good choice of sharing and grazing platters, delicious mains, choice of pizzas and salads, and tasty desserts. This place is an absolute treat!Visited February 2024Travelled with familyWritten February 19, 2024

There was 8 of us and we were seated in the super noisy function space out the back. It was stuffy with no airflow, surrounded by tables of 20+ having hens parties. No option to sit outside due to the rain. Many rules about booking times with a max. 2 hour window. Even though we booked online our reservation was moved due to a wedding at 3pm - not displayed online. The menu has some share options and pizzas but they were hit and miss. Prawn pizza was $29, tasteless, covered in cheese, no sign of the promised nduja with 8 x tiny 2cm prawns. Large green salad $28 but very tasty. Good dishes were the arancini and lamb croquettes and the fish of the day. Overall a very pricey menu without value. Surprisingly the wines are not from the “winery” or made by them. Driving in on the left hand side were sad parcels of the original vines that I know were thriving in 1995 when I first visited. It doesnt look like there is any attempt to grow vines. All of us are locals and we all agreed we wouldn’t go back. It is more a function space catering to the tourist crowds rather than a real winery. On a positive note the food and drinks service was good and timely but I felt sorry for the poor staff run off their feet. Not relaxing.

We had a beautiful afternoon celebrating my 30th birthday. The staff were beautiful, friendly, easy going and attentive. They over to chat and make you feel welcome. The food was great- fresh, simple and tasty. The wine tasting is great, affordable and the knowledge of the staff briefing you of the wine’s background and pairings was great. I loved the sparkling, Chardonnay and moscato (I don’t like moscato but you have to try this one!) Even though the wines are not grown on the property (yet!) you are still supporting and tasting Victorian vineyards produce. We have a 7 month old, the staff (and other diners!) dotted over her but were supportive and made us feel very welcome. Loved the whole experience, they made my day very special and delightful. Highly, highly recommend.

What a wonderful bunch of people, from Lynnie to David and all the staff.
They made us feel welcome the minute we walked in, nothing was too much trouble.
The food was exceptional and a good choice, as it was our daughters birthday we decided a few little things, (they weren't s small) the Charcuterie platter, Arancini balls, to start with some cocktails. Wow just delightful in and a couple of small tasting wines, how nice was that so we ordered a glass of Shiraz, Pint Noor and a Sangiovese to accompany the Beef brisket, pizza and fries with truffle and feta, yes if course we also had a salad, tomato and buffalo mozzarella and those oxtail tomatoes had so much flavour.
The place was so busy (Lovely to see) and we still had exceptional service, the decor was fantastic, so rustic yet modern and the cellar door is a must. Some cheeses, wines, books etc, very much worth the trip.
We will certainly make this a trip from time to time especially if we ha E guests.
Well done folks, great place?

6 of us (incl 2 kids) has a beautiful lunch followed by a wine tasting. Wines are definitely worth coming out here to taste - something for everyone and each wine has a story - and then the food is also really tasty, broad range and beautifully presented. Finally the atmosphere and the staff are the X factor for the winery. Great music and professional staff who love what they do.
Footnote - you can buy the kids an ice cream in the wine tasting shed (just a standard one on a stick) and have them sit out in the garden entertained while you do the wine tasting :)

A cold and gloomy July afternoon……let’s indulge and spend the afternoon at the winery.
No problems with booking for lunch on a Wednesday in winter.
Service was exceptional…attentive without being intrusive.
Fires warmed the restaurant and the lambs wool blankets were appreciated.
Food was delicious….oysters to start….beef and fish as mains.
Wine was a full bodied Shiraz which was exceptional.
Quite a few people on a winter weekday afternoon.
It is rather pricey however comparable to prices in other establishments today.
Please note that the wines are not produced from the estate, albeit delicious anyhow.
This is a multipurpose venue…..a meal inside on a cold winters day……lovely outside grounds during summer…..a buzzing vibe during the “touristy period…..a function venue on a regular basis.

We last visited the winery about 6 years ago. It has expanded considerably, with a large function area added at the back of the restaurant. We ate a very pleasant lunch, tasty and competently prepared. The wines are generally of a high standard and there is a full bar available to supplement the wine list. We ate inside, as it was a bit windy for anything other than pizza outside. Service was a little slow, but well intentioned and homely. Certainly worth seeking out.

Ordered the Pork Belly for lunch. It cost $47 and I expected a meal, along with the other ladies who ordered the same thing. We were shocked to be served two tiny slivers of Pork, the two pieces of pickled cauliflower were the size of the old Australian one cent coin, the crushed sweet potato was actually small and non-crushed glazed carrots, we got a HINT of the mustard glaze sauce and as for the macadamia puree, it was the size of a 50 cent coin. All in all, we did not get BANG for our buck, but completely ripped off with such a small serving, that in the 10 minutes it took to eat it, we were left completely hungry. We all agreed as locals to the area, that we would never go back to this winery again.

Had a great lunch with husband, 2 teenage kids and dog. We were welcomed when we arrived. Place was very clean and followed covid precautions. Food and wine was amazing. A lot of choice for for all of us to enjoy. Gnocchi was great and arancini balls flavourful. Rice salad was also refreshing. Kids had Woodfired pizzas.

Fabulous food in a great location. We had the twice cooked beef brisket and the chocolate tasting platter. Although a little loud inside, there is a great outside area. The cellar door staff were lovely and the wine is fabulous. For such a large venue, however, more than two toilets would be appropriate.

Ok got an answer now re Phillip Island Winery opening Christmas Day. It is closed Christmas Day and Boxing Day, but as one of the co-owners told me - never say never - maybe next year.
