I had some time on my last day on PEI, so I decided a drive out to the Point Prim lighthouse would be a perfect way to spend a couple of hours. The site where the lighthouse stands is small, but there’s a great little...More
After coming from Nova Scotia on the ferry we stopped off at the lighthouse on our way to Charlottetown. A beautiful spot and this historic lighthouse is worth the drive. I believe that in a few weeks it is open for tours inside.
This lighthouse was cool to visit! The tide was out at the time we went and we were able to walk around on the stones. It was neat to discover sea creatures that were hiding in the pools of water and under rocks!
We decided to venture out even though the site was technically closed. We enjoyed it and can imagine on a nice summer day it would be spectaclular. A beautiful well kept lighthouse. The road out was not too fantastic.
Really enjoyed the drive out here. We were on our way to catch the Wood Islands ferry and had some time to kill. Drove out along the cape. Very wild, very natural, and a good road, too.
The lighthouse was the highlight. Ocean, wind and...More

Thank you for your review! And that is the 70-mile yard sale that you experienced, lol - it's an annual event here!
A pretty drive through the countryside and you arrive st the tip of Point Prim. The lighthouse was the first to be built on PEI more than 150 years ago. Good information panels explain the history of the construction and its significance to Confederation.

Point Prim lighthouse is the first lighthouse on Prince Edward Island....marks the entry to the bay toward Charlottetown. It has been restored.
There is a very nice shop on the premises....many locally made items of wood and cloth.
It cost the two of us $10.00...More
