Caged animals. Lots of empty areas. Beautiful setting. But ultimately this is a mediocre zoo. How does it have 4 stars?

The philosophy here supports animals and people alike, the staff are welcoming and clearly love the animals they nurture. The park is mainly under the shade of ancient woodland. The gardens and walk ways are maintained well.

A big restaurant, easy to find with pleasant English-speaking staff. Seasonal Portuguese food, game and fish excellent. Good wine and spirits selection. Home made sweets. The menu is extensive and changes frequently. Pleasant surroundings. Open on Christmas Day.

Very nice park in the mountain slope, with animals in nice and natural environments, as it does not look like a normal Zoo

I mainly appreciate how you can't really tell how big and how many animals and space the park has until you're in it. It makes you really think you're just on a farm with the farm animals or on a hike through the mountains where...More
