The other day I was here, and two seals were just offshore. At first a noisy crowd of seagulls attracted my attention. They were clustering on a spot in the water proximate to the famous Wren's Eggs, a pair of glacial erratic boulders. Net the seals appeared, and one kept popping its head back above the waves, repeatedly for twenty... More

This is such a wonderful place to take a walk, where else can you see a lighthouse up on the headland, and sea caves, and all manner of bird life. Herons went flying over me, calling, and there was a kestrel in the trees another day. In wintertime the sun is lovely and low, shining off the water. The walk... More

You can stroll the easy level footpath up to the base of the Lighthouse. If you want a more energetic walk you can then climb the steep path up the side of the headland to the Lighthouse itself.

This walk takes you from Whitehead to Blackhead lighthouse. It's a good walk beside the sea at any time of the year. The path side sculptures are not very attractive but the view of the sea is lovely. There's a small outdoor gym on the way. We saw dolphins in the sea on one walk.

Nice walk at sea level, well maintained with plenty spots to sit and rest, partly along a rocky beach. The best part of the path right around the lighthouse is closed "due to rockfall". If you can get to the closed section, it is awe-inspiring seeing the cliffs from underneath. The sporty people can also climb a bunch of stairs... More

If you can discount the ludicrous council for trying to stop you making the walk most days of the year... You can usually find a way round it. It really is health and safety gone mad but anyway it's a beautiful walk around some dramatic coastline with spectecular views. The cliff walk wouldn't be suitable for the elderly or those... More

blackhead path ,is a lovely place to go for walks, it is very popular with visitors ,the views along side the sea is brilliant, their are seats along the way for taking a rest when you get tired, and if you are lucky you might see some rabbits near sunshine house, and also on a good day you will see... The parking place is just a few meters before the path on the coast starts. You walk about 2km beside the ocean until the path goes up to the lighthouse. The view from there is great and if you brought a blanket you can enjoy a picnic on the cliffs. Going down from there you walk along the cliffs and... More

This walk is amazing. Level footpath all the way so anyone can do it. For me there is nothing more relaxing than walking beside the sea listening to the water lapping against the rocks. Then add the view, the gorgeous wild flowers and the birds. Perfect. The end of the path was closed due to a rockfall so we decided... More
