Great opportunity on a beautiful island

I've been to FNPF on Nusa Penida twice now and had an awesome time on both visits. If you're into wildlife conservation and want to volunteer, its such a cool place to go. FNPF do great work on the island from releasing and protecting the critically endangered Bali Starling to community engagement projects like teaching English to local kids. The... More

One of the difficult things with trying to find a place to volunteer is cost and whether you're actually doing much good. Although new to volunteering internationally, the cost (nothing exorbitant or remotely near the thousands of dollars you see for 10-14 days or more), the many projects the FNPF has (multiple locations focusing on multiple causes!), and the fact... I have been a visitor to Indonesia for more than 30years and was quite excited to be visiting the island for the first time, with my family. Having researched a little, it seemed like it would be a really worthwhile experience to volunteer with the FNP on Nusa Penida during our stay. We contacted the FNP office, which is administered... It was difficult for us to find the centre at first so I would definitely recommend arranging pick up with the staff at the harbour! The centre is a great place to meet people from all over the world, and the work is very rewarding. We participated in gardening, fixing goat and peacock cages, beach cleaning, and had planned to... Its really nice to go somewhere and find treasures run by compassionate people who truly put great efforts in what is their passion. I'm please to donate to assist and will create a discovery tour for guests in the future. Suzan from Gekotour.

Our family of four spent a wonderful but all too short 5 days volunteering with FNPF on Nusa Penida, the highlight of our month-long stay in Indonesia. We watered the organic gardens and greenhouse, collected trash from the beach and seaweed to make a natural “fertilizer juice”, monitored the FNPF reforestation site at the south of the island and the... Not much to see. No one there much of the time. Volunteers seemed to spend their time eating and snorkeling. But we did see a Bali starling fly over the hotel one night. Must have been released from the enclosure.

This is a volunteer staffed conservation organisation that is re-introducing the Bali Starling to the wild here on Nusa Penida, working on community gardens and working with the locals to encourage the establishment of marine protected areas. They have breeding Bali Starlings to view in cages and can advise interested people on all aspects of the environment of Nusa Penida.... More

I was interested in doing some volunteer work & I found this little gem while searching the internet I booked 1 week & ended up staying 1 month. Its a great place to find out what Nusa Penida is about & you dont have to volunteer. The island it self is a great place to go & get lost so... More

I stayed with FNPF as a volunteer in 2004 for just over a month. It was a completely life changing experience all of the team are full of love and fun as well as being very committed to their work. I found it easy to relax, become one of the team and feel genuinely useful. If you have an opportunity... More
