We only did the quick central look, referred to as the 'bridge to bridge'. Paved all the way around and easy, flat path which is suited to all regardless of whether walking, running or cycling. Other than some construction work at the northern end of...More

A great place to stroll the walkways are wide and well constructed. Being winter not much foliage on the trees but you can see how pretty it must be in the spring and summer. Saw a couple black swans and a few ducks on the...More

We visited Canberra in Winter, unfortunately the coldest winter in many years, so we had to pick quite a sunny day to visit the lake. Lovely area, great flat footpaths that take you on a nice walk. A lot of joggers and cyclists, so make...More

The lake is Canberra's crowing glory with good walking & cycle paths. Try the Seaways while there. Commonwealth park by the lake is fabulous for a picnic spot and there are playgrounds for the kids to enjoy. The Bookplate restaurant at the National Library is...More

Just a great place to walk around and enjoy some winter sunshine when you can. Highly recommended, but do carry some water with you as there are not a lot of kiosks etc to stop and take a drink

Very time we come to Canberra my biggest enjoyment is walking around the Lake. It is so beautiful any time of year, but this time in Autumn was amazing with all the colours of the trees.

The Lake was a perfect place for a chilly morning run. There are bubblers along the pathway . Later in the morning it was a relaxing space to spend time with the family. Sculptures, gardens and pathways are all beautifully maintained. We found an area...More

We always to a cycling tour or the lake when we visit. We always have to wear several layers but the invigorating sunshine and crisp air make this a wonderful winter Canberra experience. Hot chocolates and snacks available along the way or pack your own.

I have lived in Canberra for 55 years and Lake Burley Griffin never fails to amaze me. On a beautiful frosty morning with the mist hanging over it, it looks amazing. When the yachts come out to sail they look very majestic.

Rug up and make the effort to have a walk round parts of this beautiful man made lake. Well worth it. The two bridge walk is great.
