A great site with the lake in the background

Nothing spectacular but an excellent site to see the world globe up close with water a feature, especially when the water jet in the lake is operating. It is worth a visit

Nicely designed memorial with heaps of interesting info of the trips he made. Could do with a clean but in a great location with good views. A must do. Close to the lake walk and info centre.

That is one more thing you must see if you are nearby the lake, I did a tour by bike and it was really amazing, the memorial is one of the other great things that you see doing the same.

Canberra has many wonderful vistas and Regatta Point is a good place to wander, sit or enjoy things like Skyfire. Easy walking paths and great views to the National Library.

The Regatta Point is a very popular spot for sport activities as there are canoes and bicycles for hire nearby. This i a big place where every man and his dog have an enjoyable time.

I didn't expect this style of memorial to Captain Cook, but it really works in this situation. A perfect piece of sculpture in a perfect setting beside Lake Burley Griffin.

The bronze globe maps all three of Cook's voyages showing the stopping points and datelines for each. An excellent summary of his travels. It's free and stands on the north side of Lake Birley Griffin with plenty of nearby parking.

Along the Lake at the city centre side, parliament and questacon can be seen in the distance. The globe has a small waterfall hanging from it. It is quite nice. This would be worth seeing right before or after strolling through commonwealth park as it is very close.
