Great for a Break

Lovely treed park with a lake, right next to the Lake trail and close to loads of attractions. Good rest areas, places for picnics, shady trees, play grounds for kids etc etc.

This is an excellent place to take a family. There is space for riding bikes and paths to walk along. Being by the lake it's pretty and picturesque.

The infrastucture a little aged now but it is still a beautifully designed park. You can take a walk around the lake or just have a look at the place. Lots of place to play games and relax. You will always be able to find a free spot.

We strolled through the greater park during our visit to Floriade. It is a lovely large park with ponds and paths along Lake Burley-Griffin. Ideal spots for a picnic abound. I am sure when Floriade is not on there would be ample parking. There are lovely views across the lake to some of the major Canberra attractions too. I think... More

We were lucky enough to be there when Floriade was on in the park. The gardens were covered in beautiful flowers and sculptures. Plenty to see, do and eat here and it's free!!

This is the venue for Floriade. A bucket list item and destination for us. We were disappointed with organisation or lack of car parking and signage, lack of sufficient table and chairs for dining at food venue, Quality of tulips in particular as they appeared stressed and under nourished.

We have visited Commonwealth Park during Floriade when the magnificent bulbs are all in bloom & the park is transformed completely. We have also visited when the park is in its normal state - a beautiful, restful place to walk amongst native & introduced species of plants. The lake is also quite delightful.

A fantastic place to enjoy a picnic. This is a hidden gem in Canberra with great play areas for the children and a lot of lovely water parks within. It is a great place to have a work function.

This Lek boarders the lake and I was lucky to find some piece and quiet here this weekend. The park is used for music events, civic events but it's best for picnics and family outings. Good pathways and it's just nice to walk near the lake with the Capital buildings over the other side. Canberra is luck to have this... More

Pleasant walk along the lake, concrete paths, grassed open areas, some picnic tables, views across the lake, lots of joggers and walkers. Limited parking on weekends, popular with locals.
