The Strand Arcade is fun to explore. Small shops line two levels under a large skylight. My favorite hat shop is there, the Strand Hatters, which has a great selection of Akruba hats. You'll find a nice variety of shops for clothing, cosmetics, jewelry, and gifts. You can sit and people watch over coffee or tea and pastries.

Strand Arcade is located in a nice old building in the CBD of Sydney and in truth, as far as attractions go it's not up there with the Opera House shall we say. It is however a nice enough old building and if you are an architecture buff you may really enjoy the style of the internal arcade with its... More

I have to say that I love this little historical arcade. There are so few really old buildings left in Sydney, and this is a little ge. I have to say, however that I would never waste my time even looking in the shops there, they're overpriced and very ordinary. So, if you're in the city & would like to... More

Passing through the Strand Arcade, Pitt Street Mall and the Westfield fashion district in one afternoon, this place had to be the best with its beautiful interior designs and prime shopping.

One of Melbourne's attractions is the proliferation of beautiful historic old arcades and alleyways - they are everywhere and have so much charm. Sydney does not have the same and relies more on the newer and bigger brash centres like Westfield which may be great for shopping but lack charm. The Strand is probably Sydney's closest to the Block Arcade... More

I adore the Strand Arcade , the precursor to the modern shopping mall the Strand Arcade had it all when it was first built. Now an upmarket arcade with boutique shops selling all kinds of glamorous stuff. The shops keep changing , and a few stay the same . Little cafes, bespoke jewellers , designer frock shops , hand made... More

The Strand Arcade is such a beautiful building with amazing architecture and little details it is a joy to go shopping in their. I wandered off of Pitt Street into the Strand and had a wonderful time walking up and down the shopping center.

The place is nice and unique and still has that Victorian style elegance to it and it’s a worthwhile visit but at the end it’s a mall and its good if you are into shopping, otherwise one can absorb all the beauty in the whole architecture sip a coffee and stuff in some snacks and can leave with the happiness... I recently took a trip down memory as I walked through Sydney. On a whim I decided to visit the Strand Arcade which I hadn't visited in years. I had forgotten the beautiful architecture and variety of shops and cafes. Great atmosphere and great for window shopping. Step back in time to 1891 and experience old world charm in Sydney.

Central Business District
The Sydney Central Business District is abuzz with energy. Power brokers run to and from high rise buildings and after-work drink places, high-end shoppers tour venues like the QVB, and fine diners frequent the many celebrity chef restaurants. For a dose of culture, walk to the NSW Art Gallery, or visit the Sydney Museum. To escape the hustle and bustle, reconnect with nature at the Sydney Botanical Gardens or picnic lunch at High Park.
