This is an historic area of Sydney. A neighborhood with lots of restaurants, bars, sidewalk cafes, shops, etc. All within walking distance, also close enough to the Sydney Opera House. Do bring a map and go around, enjoy a drink, a snack a meal, or...More

We visited with our teenage daughters. We had an excellent breakfast and did some great shopping. The buildings are beautiful, and the people running the establishments are friendly (and good salespeople).

The Rocks has a mix of old buildings and newer ones. One needs a map guide to help plan a walk around to discover the historic properties, restaurants and boutique shops.

The rocks are always busy with people food and Markets. Get there early as the markets and street food close early. There is always something to see and do. Love my day trips at the rocks.

This is the old historical heart of Sydney and it shows with an interesting mix of alleyways, cul-de-sacs and courtyards. Full of cafes, restaurants and bars, very busy on a weekend night.

I loved how this area of Sydney was 80% less busy then say Circular Quay. And I loved all the laneways. But the downfall was that some of the Laneways were dead ends and the rocks is a very hilly part Sydney. Expect to doing...More

It's amazing how many Sydney-siders I speak to who have never taken the time to explore the Rocks. There is so much history there mixed in with restaurants, shops and attractions that one day just doesn't do it justice.

The first residents of the Rocks were convicts and
sailors from the old nation. As the oldest
neighbourhood in the city, the area's cobblestone
streets host more than 100 heritage sites and
buildings, including the oldest house in Sydney,
Camden Cottage, which was built in 1816. Taste a “midi
“ or a “schooner” of beer and dine “al fresco” on the
waterfront at some of the oldest pubs in Sydney. The
