Bondi is a nice beach and a must do at least once for everybody but i personally find it over crowded parking is a nightmare and we live in a country with thousands of beaches that are a lot better. Personally i can not see what all the hype is about but thats just my opinion.

Summer officially commenced yesterday and I made a "spur of the moment" decision this morning to visit Bondi Beach. My usual train on The Airport Line to the City with a change at Central to get to Bondi Junction. Regular buses operate from the railway station at Bondi Junction to Bondi Beach for a mere 10 cents..... A hot and... More

This iconic beach has all you could want and is very assessable. It doesn't matter if there are thousands of people there - there is still room to have your own space without feeling crowded.

Would not bother driving out here unless you really want to sun bathe. It's pretty but after 5 minutes that's all there is to do. It's particularly crowded with locals on the weekends.

The trip here is definitely worth it. The beach was really beautiful. I took the advise from trip advisor to avoid weekends and went on a Monday. I'm really glad that I took that advise because we were really able to enjoy the beach, the water and the view without having to worry about the kids getting lost in crowds.... More

This popular beach can be reached from downtown Sydney by bus while Manly basically requires a ferry ride. Bondi seems less commercial and the beach itself is beautiful.

We visited here as part of a tour and we were somewhat underwhelmed by the place. Having heard all about bondi beach for years we expected something special, The are a lot better beaches around the world and to be honest manly beach in Sydney would be in my opinion better. The sand is golden although the beach not that... More

Unfortunately we did not get to experience the huge waves on the day we visited. The area is nice with lots of shops.

Staying in Bondi Beach

Neighbourhood Profile
Bondi Beach
An iconic Australian suburb, Bondi Beach is famous for its fantastic beaches and views. Once the domain of backpackers, hundreds of tourists from all over the world descend en masse to Bondi in December ready to enjoy the "Aussie summer". Bondi Beach boasts impressive ocean views all along the many restaurants and bars on Campbell Parade. Wake up early and take a dip in the surf before walking the scenic stretch from Bondi to Coogee Beach. Stroll through the Saturday organic markets in North Bondi or grab some fish and chips and relax in the grassy area opposite the beach. For more upscale cuisine, head down to Hall Street where a range of new eateries have recently opened. Just make sure to save enough energy for the buzzing nightlife Bondi Beach has to offer.
