Just as I remembered

There is a nice little palm cove by opera house, cool and palm and fern covered relief from the heat of summer

I lived in Sydney for 2 months. And whenere I needed a quiet spot (you cannot find that in sydney centre) I went to the Rotal Botanic Gardens. You have so much to see there. Different plants and trees from all over the world. Magnificent paths through the park. It is a great place to walk or to just sit... More

As well as being packed with plants this large park is home to loads of cockatoos, ibis etc. A great green area in the city and makes a lovely walk.

Right in the centre of the city in a super position near Sydney Opera House, easy to get to and well laid out. A very relaxed feel.

Sydney Botanical gardens have great views of the harbour and bridge/ opera house, but fewer flowers than Melbourne. That said, still a very pleasant area, despite the really big spiders!!

I love this garden, you can really get lost in here. Pack a picnic, and take your time, there are so many beautiful and varied species of plants here and the fig trees are beautiful and majestic. Along the water, a nice place to spend on a sunny day, too, with lots of respite in the shade.

Easy to enter, walk around, relax, and marvel at these old majestic trees. There are many spots from where you can overlook the harbor, and get the best views. And there are, close by, the Cathedral, the Public Library, the Lookout, and the war memorial.

Didn't see enough of this place but was only in Sydney for a day so visited on the little train that runs through the gardens. What we saw was amazing and would love to see again when more time. It was a very hot day when we were there and lovely to get some shade from the many trees and... More

Enjoyed a lovely walk through these well-maintained gardens so close the the Opera House. Would have liked to take the tour and look through the shop but was closed on the day of our visit (New Year's Day)

Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
The Sydney Central Business District is abuzz with energy. Power brokers run to and from high rise buildings and after-work drink places, high-end shoppers tour venues like the QVB, and fine diners frequent the many celebrity chef restaurants. For a dose of culture, walk to the NSW Art Gallery, or visit the Sydney Museum. To escape the hustle and bustle, reconnect with nature at the Sydney Botanical Gardens or picnic lunch at High Park. No matter your interest, be sure to check the full calendar of events hosted by the city, from the Sydney Festival in January to October’s Good Food Month at Hyde Park.
