This tour is a must do when visiting Sydney or even if you are a local! Our tour guide (Chris) was fantastic at guiding us through the spooky areas of The Rocks! We visited the oldest house in The Rocks and listened to the history of the old residences. Overall, this was a brilliant tour and I would highly recommend... More

To be honest Sydney didn't want to put on a show in regards to the weather, however James our ghost guide made us forget we were stuck out in the rain with his awesome stories (it also helped that he gave us all body bags (ponchos) to keep us all dry). It's a true talent to deliver a gripping tale,... More

I've lived in Sydney my whole life, and I got to see some parts of it I've never seen. Ghost Host Rowan was enjoyable to listen to as he beguiles us with tales and enjoyably terrible jokes. I think a lot of the bad reviews are from people expecting cheap jump scares or want to be guaranteed a ghost. If... More

Amazing tour! We had Ghost Host rowan who was fab - totally in character and kept the tour interesting throughout. The recommended age i think is about 14+ and there are some spooky places and stories so it probably isn't suitable for the under-12s. We were in a group of around 10 people. It lasts approx 2hours and is so... More

What another great tour we had with The Rocks Ghostours! Such knowledgeable tour guides who gave us a real horrible history insight of the Rocks area. We have been a number of times now on both their north & south tours, which take you into buildings that are not open to the general public. They really know their stuff. Fun,... More

We joined Rowan on a ghostly tour just a few nights ago. Our group found him not just knowledgeable but highly engaging and entertaining! He was able to call ahead to the Rangers and get us access to buildings that were otherwise closed to the public. He spent the better part of our two-hour tour regaling us with stories of... More

Meet at the allocated spot. The lady was nice, a little dad jokesy and sometimes hard to hear. Was a great walk to find out the history of the southern area of the rocks. 2 hours is a long time and while the tour was pretty good it would have been great to actually stop in a pub or 2... More

Easy to book and very well organised. Rowen was an entertaining tour guide, good at creating mood. 2 hours long with some walking - highly recommended

I went for this tour in January 2017 and I still remember it so fondly. Before the tour, I was under the impression the stories will be boring with a lot of local history, and while it was, I was not bored at all. The stories and experiences are just great! Our ghost host was a fab story teller (makes... More

My teenage Son and I have done almost every ghost tour in Australia and this one is definitely in our top 3! Gary was an entertaining host with a wicked sense of humour. No tacky props that ruin the atmosphere on this tour, just plenty of walking and stories. Even if you don't believe in ghosts, the sites you get... More

Staying in The Rocks

Neighbourhood Profile
The Rocks
The first residents of the Rocks were convicts and sailors from the old nation. As the oldest neighbourhood in the city, the area's cobblestone streets host more than 100 heritage sites and buildings, including the oldest house in Sydney, Camden Cottage, which was built in 1816. Taste a “midi “ or a “schooner” of beer and dine “al fresco” on the waterfront at some of the oldest pubs in Sydney. The weekend markets at the Rocks are where you can find local artists' hand-made souvenirs, organic food and designer jewelry in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. To enjoy some of the best Australian and international contemporary art, the MCA museum is open every day and select evenings. At the end of a long day of sightseeing, be sure to save energy to dance the night away at the area's many late night entertainment venues.
