Our group of friends, including a vegetarian, were looking for dinner after drinks at Ryan's Bar in Australia Square and decided on this pizza parkour at Martin Place. The old GPO is now The Westin Hotel and houses several restaurants on the lower floor. We ordered pizzas to share with a good Pinot Noir. The venue was pretty full with... More

This building is quite distinctive - even when there is all the construction around the place, one will notice this grand place.

A wonderful old building with great architecture - situated in the heart of the city, it has been functionally remodelled to incorporate a hotel, upmarket stores and a few restaurants and cafes.

Popped in on a sat night . Plenty of seats and spread out. Can be noisy, food disappointing. Bar service good - several choices

Originally the headquarters of the Australian Post Office System, the GPO is a magnificent structure, certainly the most important and largest structure when it was built. Now a small post office is still located on the Pitt St. side I think, but the major occupant is a Westin Hotel. Also restaurants adorn the perimeter of the building on the Martin... More

This post office is located in an amazing building on the corner of George St and Martin Place. It's really the building that you want to go and see, as it's an example of one of the many beautiful original buildings that will enable to you have an idea of what Sydney would have been like in the 1900's. Once a grand post office the building is still grand but the post office is now housed in a corner of the building. Well worth a look as it's a very grand building

A stunning sandstone building located at the bottom of Martin Place. It was redeveloped from the GPO in the late 1990s, and now houses the Westin hotel at the rear and contains several bars and restaurants. Worth a visit.

As we checked into The Westin Hotel we could'nt help notice that is was attached to the remains of the Sydney Grand Post Office. We got an even better look the next morning when we had breakfast on the first floor of the hotel. The area overlooks the entire interior structure of the building and it is amazing to see... More

We had a walk through this building on a afternoon wander around the city. There are some great examples of older buildings and this is one of them.
