I love this theatre! It is worth arriving early to give yourself time to have a look around at the artworks, statues, chandeliers, and beautifully painted walls and impressive dome ceilings.

The State Theatre has a wonderful atmosphere. You feel like you are stepping back in time. Sydney is lucky that the old world charm has been retained.

We saw Patty Smith life and the theatre was almost surreal for a rock show. It gave it an interesting flavor that you would not have gotten in one of these modern concert halls. We love the restoration work and service. The amenities are great...More

The title tells it all really. This is such a lovely old theatre - makes every show seem special. And all of the staff that we encountered were so friendly.

This theatre is an experience in itself. It's stunningly beautiful and I have yet to come across a bad seat. The seats are generous, so that you don't feel crammed in and the acoustics are fantastic. Even though it has 2000 seats, it still feels...More

shoppers tour venues like the QVB, and fine diners
frequent the many celebrity chef restaurants. For a
dose of culture, walk to the NSW Art Gallery, or visit
the Sydney Museum. To escape the hustle and bustle,
reconnect with nature at the Sydney Botanical Gardens
