Visiting and seeing the Opera House is a never-to-be-forgotten experience, but for many that is where it starts and ends. For those who are able, the walk from the Opera House to the Botanic Gardens takes in a completely new experience. The location on the shores of Sydney Harbour is world-class. Vistas across the harbour provide another aspect of the... More

Had early Sunday lunch at Poolside Cafe overlooking Andrew Boy Charlton pool. A beautiful spot on the water with views over the pool to Wooloomooloo, the Naval Base and Harbour. Great quality food at this cafe, innovative menu and small but good wine selection. After lunch a stroll around the foreshore, I was elated to notice how clean this area... More

This is just a natural extension of pedestrian access to and around the Opera House. Many people would walk the area without giving any thought to it being a separate labelled entity. It gives different angles on the opera house structure and the harbour generally, and provides convenient access to the 'gardens' (which are far more than just gardens in... More

Unbelievable collections, we took tour(6$ i guess) Its worth if you cant walk. It took close to 30 minutes. For sure you need lots of water and energy if you plan to walk by urself. Plenty to look around. Its worth visiting for sure, if you like gardens.

These gardens are adjacent to the Opera House, so you probably will already be going there. They are lovely and include some sculptures and interesting sights, even a train for the kids.

The Opera House is a stunning structure. You can walk around it, through it, on a guided tour or you can experience a show/Opera inside it. Either way it is a fascinating building and architecturaly is a great achievement.

In Sydney a day early so took some time to walk the city. Walk around the Opera house with fantastic views of the harbour and bridge. Botanical garden was a nice addition with peaceful walks and more great views. Very relaxing.

Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
The Sydney Central Business District is abuzz with energy. Power brokers run to and from high rise buildings and after-work drink places, high-end shoppers tour venues like the QVB, and fine diners frequent the many celebrity chef restaurants. For a dose of culture, walk to the NSW Art Gallery, or visit the Sydney Museum. To escape the hustle and bustle, reconnect with nature at the Sydney Botanical Gardens or picnic lunch at High Park. No matter your interest, be sure to check the full calendar of events hosted by the city, from the Sydney Festival in January to October’s Good Food Month at Hyde Park.
