The king piece of this park is the memorial to Australia's soldiers who died in WWII helping the mother country, Britain. The reflecting pond, eternal flame, and oblisk are features of this shaded park. Bring a picnic lunch there. Don't forget to look up the...More

Although not on the scale of its London counterpart, Sydney's Hyde Park plays an important role in helping to maintain the city's health (environmental, physical, mental, spiritual...). Along with the Botanical Gardens and the Domain, Hyde Park is a welcome respite from the Sydney traffic,...More

The fountains & sculptures are beautiful. St. Mary's cathedral next door. We saw many couples here taking wedding photos. Lots of trees and benches to sit under the shade in the summer. Nice spot for a picnic in the middle of the city.

We had walked from the Opera House and were going back to our hotel via Hyde Park. Not loud, not too crowded, just a very green and lush space in the city.

Central Business District
The Sydney Central Business District is abuzz with
energy. Power brokers run to and from high rise
buildings and after-work drink places, high-end
shoppers tour venues like the QVB, and fine diners
frequent the many celebrity chef restaurants. For a
dose of culture, walk to the NSW Art Gallery, or visit
the Sydney Museum. To escape the hustle and bustle,
reconnect with nature at the Sydney Botanical Gardens
