Millers Point is a small suburb within the City of Sydney and it is often thought to be a part of The Rocks neighbourhood. Beautiful, most historical part of the city. However its residents experiencing real diffiulties and continue to fight evictions.

Millers point in wedged between the Rocks and Barangaroo and has been fighting for the survival of the old small houses that were part of early Sydney development. It's a shame to think that in years to come, they will be demolished to allow space for further tower development. But money talks. In the meantime, it's worth a walk out... More

I feel sorry for the residents at Millers Point as the old houses will be demolished soon for a big face lift of the community. Do go to Millers Point before the old houses are gone because its surrounding already changed, replaced by new modern high rise.

When walking through the old terraced homes in Millers Point you are reminded of how Sydney Harbour used to be a working port. This aspect of the harbour is all but gone as is the character that came with it. Millers Point is up from The Rocks, head up through the Argyle Cut to enjoy a reminder of Sydney's past... More

I really liked my walk about Walsh Bay and Millers Point which is kind of the same area of the city... sort of... It's not really in the Rocks, but the other side of the Sydney Harbour Bridge and I'd say the neglected sibling to the attention getting Rocks. There are heaps of great restaurants over on the other side,... More

Now a featured suburb in the media due to the NSW Governments decision to sell all of their rental houses (at a massive profit) which is forcing some long tenured residents to move suburbs. The protest signs are evident in my photos. The construction of Barangaroo and the reserve also give the suburb a different feel now - it is... More

Love this place, go there. Walk up through cutting and see old houses before the character is completely killed off due to the Bangaroo development.

Such a beautiful old area to walk around! City style homes have existed for about 100 years and have sheltered residents on lower incomes. Unfortunately they are now selling these to the highest bidder to make into 'mcmansions'. Stop by now to see their stories--family history on a large wooden board and chat with the locals!
