Circular Quay is a colorful port where ferries and cruise ships board and depart, and boat watching can be as good a pastime as people watching. While street performers entertain outside, those wanting a more cultural experience can head into the Museum of Contemporary Art where a sculpture garden on the roof is as much a view as the waterways below.

There is always something happening at Circular Quay. A lovely place to sit and watch people and boats and entertainers. Lovely walks that link the opera house to the botanical gardens and the Rocks. Truly, no better place to spend time ...

I love that you can see so much here. You have a selection of ferries to take you to some of the most wonderful locations on the Harbour. But you don't have to leave. Around the quay you have access to some great restaurants, cafes and pubs. There are an assortment of live entertainment, buskers is you will, and such... More

Located right at the edge of the CBD, walk around and enjoy the sights. This is where you can catch the many harbor cruises that are on offer as well as watching the occasional big cruise ships as they come in to dock.

So much activities here... View of the opera house and the bridge, so many bars and restaurants, sit watched the ferries come in and out of the quay, people making a dash to the central station. Sit here i admired the tall buildings behind the quay which is where the business district is. This is the heart of Sydney.

I love Circular Quay. It has a wide variety of restaurants to suit everyone ,special ice creams and the Ferry Service is cheap for the Opal card clients plus the availability of the charter boats.

So much to see and do. Great restaurants views and attractions. Where else can you get close up to the Harbour Bridge and visit the famous Opera House and go for a jet boat ride

This is a major train station and boat terminal in Sydney by The Rocks old town. It is full of tourists, shops and restaurants. It's a great place to people watch. Expect a few lines to get into restaurants and it can get pricy but fun to walk around.

This place is humming!! Wandering through here you'll see people from all over the world, buskers, comedians, fine restaurants, visit an art gallery and not to mention catch a bus, train, ferry or cruise ship. Nice to also just stroll and find a spot to sit and watch all the goings on and marvel at the Sydney Harbor Bridge and... More

Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
The Sydney Central Business District is abuzz with energy. Power brokers run to and from high rise buildings and after-work drink places, high-end shoppers tour venues like the QVB, and fine diners frequent the many celebrity chef restaurants. For a dose of culture, walk to the NSW Art Gallery, or visit the Sydney Museum. To escape the hustle and bustle, reconnect with nature at the Sydney Botanical Gardens or picnic lunch at High Park. No matter your interest, be sure to check the full calendar of events hosted by the city, from the Sydney Festival in January to October’s Good Food Month at Hyde Park.
