Been looking forward to hearing Corinne Bailey Rae. It was difficult to hear the purity of her voice. Visibility is good , sticky floors OK , Some seats would be good. Perhaps it was just the wrong venue acoustically for this soft-voiced singer.

Been many many times for various gigs and it's been a my fave venue in sydney, easy to access and is a good size without being too big, great sound and lighting. But once it's an all ages gig, they take away the cash only bar and if your drinking you're limited to standing only behind the light console. I... More

Growing up in Sydney and liking rock music - this was one of the places I've visited many times to see live shows. Was here last night to see L7. The venue hasn't changed much since I was a teenager - still wonderful and relaxed and is mid sized so packs a decent crowd without being too enormous and losing... More

I've been to the Metro Theatre too many times to count. This place is THE live music venue in Sydney... I've not seen a band here yet that isn't 'on fire' :-) (The Superjesus, Queensryche, SHIHAD, Sevendust, Cog etc) The drink prices are..."Sydney Prices" so don't expect anything else, the room sounds great & it looks the part for a... Each time I have attended this venue, the most recent time being last Friday to see Tonight Alive, the environment has always been perfect for the event. I have also seen Seether and HIM here, each visit being flawless. This venue has always encouraged having a good time safely, and the security and staff hired really do keep that in... More

Saw Tonight Alive here and loved it! The band was perfect and the venue did not disappoint! Metro is in such a wonderful location. The only down side is the drinks at the bar were very very expensive!

The band were depressing but i wasn't massively impressed with the venue either. Firstly, tickets were expensive for a mediocre band, guys on the doors were up their own holes, $8 for a small can of somersby's cider, and you could barely move inside.

BEWARE!! My friends and I had an awful experience here last nite, the security was so full on! After emptying the entire contents of my bag for them to search, the bouncer stuck her bare hands under my bra, DOWN MY PANTS and around my crotch conducting a 'frisk search'. My friends had the same experience and we felt utterly... More

I've always loved the metro ! Location is awesome . Right in the heart of the city it's easy to get to from a lot of the city hotels either walking or cheap taxi fare. The reviews that are on here saying its outdated and drinks spilt on the floor and dirty toilets is CRAP ! Firstly it may be... More

Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
The Sydney Central Business District is abuzz with energy. Power brokers run to and from high rise buildings and after-work drink places, high-end shoppers tour venues like the QVB, and fine diners frequent the many celebrity chef restaurants. For a dose of culture, walk to the NSW Art Gallery, or visit the Sydney Museum. To escape the hustle and bustle, reconnect with nature at the Sydney Botanical Gardens or picnic lunch at High Park. No matter your interest, be sure to check the full calendar of events hosted by the city, from the Sydney Festival in January to October’s Good Food Month at Hyde Park.
