Classic bar with wood interior, stained glass, etc. Fantastic ambience. Good drinks, friendly staff. Not too crowded (Monday evening)

We were after a bar for cocktails pre dinner. We tried marble bar. Cocktails good. Service not so good. I approached a bar and the staff member walked away as I approached. 😕. I went to the other bar and ordered 2 'tails. Very good 😊. But! In plastic? With a chip? We continue the search. Marble bar is off... More

Oh this place is such a jaw dropping place Every nook and cranny you looked in it was filled with ornaments and old treasures This place is a must to see and have a drink while your there The marble is so eye catching the coldness of it on a 42 degree day is worth it

Checked the Marble Bar's website earlier in the day. Upon arrival, we were told the Marble Bar was closed due to a private function. Really! Why wasn't this posted on their website? Very disappointing considering we traveled from the northern beaches to get there.

It is a hidden gem, old underground bar. I went to the bar twice during my 3 days trip to Sydney, I really enjoy the cocktail, I went during happy hour 6-8 pm on Sunday and Monday for $15 cocktail.

This is a beautiful bar, but it's quite snooty and unwelcoming. It's part of a hotel, and feels like it.

Overall the bar is very opulent. Opulent comes at a price. The bar is noisy with loud music, very expensive wines and beers. I did not try the cocktails, as I would have to take out a mortgage on my house. For the price, the beverages come in very salubrious poly carbonate plastic containers. Glass is not allowed, even if... More

Most people in Sydney will know this is here - but if you're a tourist you may not. Seek it out, it's hidden under the Hilton on George street and is older than the Queen Vic Building. Good live music too. Csn be busy after Thursday.

Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
The Sydney Central Business District is abuzz with energy. Power brokers run to and from high rise buildings and after-work drink places, high-end shoppers tour venues like the QVB, and fine diners frequent the many celebrity chef restaurants. For a dose of culture, walk to the NSW Art Gallery, or visit the Sydney Museum. To escape the hustle and bustle, reconnect with nature at the Sydney Botanical Gardens or picnic lunch at High Park. No matter your interest, be sure to check the full calendar of events hosted by the city, from the Sydney Festival in January to October’s Good Food Month at Hyde Park.
