My husband and I were in Australia for the first time. I told him if we were going to Sydney the opera house was a must on my list. We booked our tickets several months in advance and also got dinner with the tickets. We ate at the Sea Rock Grill which was right on the wharf. We had a... More

Sydney Opera House is an amazing building. We saw two operas there, La Traviata and La Boheme. Very god performances. You see the performance very well from all seats in the venue.

From front row, center, balcony...view & sound excellent. Production moved smoothly from beginning to end. Entertaining...at times bleak, sad...at times colorful, happy. Good to see what too often is a rarity in opera productions...slender attractive women singing roles meant for slender attractive women. There are bare breasted women in the cafe scene. Would see & hear it again.

One of the highlights of our holiday to Australia!! Emma Matthews was the leading star in her stunning performance in La Traviata yesterday. Before the event, we enjoyed a light pre-theatre dinner at the Opera Bar, with breathtaking views of the harbour and the bridge. In one word, unforgettable. Thank you, Opera Australia!!

The performance of La Traviata was simply stunning, great voices, great acting, wonderful stage. We enjoyed the building itself and the setting of the north bar during interval. Worthwhile to pre-book and pre-pay drinks so you don't have to cue up. Only disadvantage - but that is almost everywhere - not enough ladies toilets.

Attended a performance of La Boheme at the Opera House this weekend. Simply a stunning and amazing production, magical performance and the Weimar Republic interpretation was inspired. Wonderful!

What's not to like about seeing Opera in an iconic Opera House? I'm not a great lover of Opera, but I couldn't pass up the opportunity to see La Boheme when we were visiting Sydney. The production was innovative, and the voices were soaring. . . a magical experience. By the way, we had about the cheapest tickets available -... More

The Opera House is an amazing space and we had an excellent light supper in a restaurant for opera-goers which overlooks Sydney harbour.

We had a guided tour around the opera house on Monday. At the end our guide told us that there were tickets available for just $99 in a really good area of the auditorium. We booked for last nights performance and we were not disappointed. A truly wonderful experience.

Central Business District
The Sydney Central Business District is abuzz with energy. Power brokers run to and from high rise buildings and after-work drink places, high-end shoppers tour venues like the QVB, and fine diners frequent the many celebrity chef restaurants. For a dose of culture, walk to the NSW Art Gallery, or visit the Sydney Museum. To escape the hustle and bustle, reconnect with nature at the Sydney Botanical Gardens or picnic lunch at High Park. No matter your interest, be sure to check the full calendar of events hosted by the city, from the Sydney Festival in January to October’s Good Food Month at Hyde Park.
