We went there with the iVenture card - 7 attractions. If u intend to spend a few days in Sydney, this card will save u 20-30% of the admission fees. Must buy. As for the wildlife zoo, it is still ok to spend an hour there as it is mostly indoor and have a close look with some of the... More

This is an awesome place to learn about animals in Australia. Although expensive, it is worth it if you go the first time. I could not see the crocodile because its habitat was being worked on. I recommend this for families. There are so many species such as Tasmanian Devil which we do not see anywhere else.

What a fantastic zoo, it's small but full of Aussie animals and very friendly staff. I have been to the Australia zoo outside Brisbane several times so I was not expecting much from this zoo at first but I totally loved it. You can see tons of snakes, butterflies, frogs, lizards, goanas, koalas, kangaroos, wallabies, equidnas, quokkas, quolls, binbys, platypus,... More

at 70 dollars for a 5 attraction pass we thought this was a bit steep however it turned out to be the most amazing day out. we spent a few hours in the facinating aquarium. the best one I've been in on my travels and then next door is the zoo. not being lovers of animals in captivity we usually... We had a great couple of hours in the facility, highlighted by a talk around 3 very active koualas, and another around several active kangaroos. Lots of other Ausie critters to see. Well worth the money.

To get to the zoo, you ride the ferry which gives you a great opportunity to take pictures of the Sydney opera house. I highly recommend buying the tickets a head of time because it allows you to ride the tram for free to the zoo. The view is amazing. I also recommend the koala experience. You can take pictures... What a huge waste of time. Hardly any animals and being nocturnal most of them are sleeping. I watched people trying to find kangaroos to feed. The koala picture area is a total joke compared to two other zoos visited on this trip. Not worth the effort and definitely not worth the money.

We decided to come here, even though we don't tend to support zoos, as it was my lifelong goal to see a koala. The koala encounter was great, I would definitely recommend that part even though it costs a bit extra ($20 per person). They also include a couple pictures with the encounter too. The only other part we really... More

The Wild Life Programs (there are three of them) in Darling Harbour is a great way to see all the various animals and their habitats when you don't have time to go to all the different places where they live.

Staying in Darling Harbour

Neighbourhood Profile
Darling Harbour
The original docklands of Darling Harbour have been transformed into a tourist mecca with entertainment for the whole family. Cockle Bay Wharf offers dining options from budget to upscale and million dollar views of the harbour. Young crowds gather on weekends for nightlife that ranges from salsa clubs to Dj’s. Families can visit the Chinese Gardens of Friendship or the Sydney Aquarium, one of the largest in the world. The Sydney Maritime Museum and the IMAX theatre are also popular attractions. The Harbourside Shopping Centre is a site unto itself, with hundreds of shops, restaurants and bars. On Saturdays in the summer, the city puts on a spectacular fireworks show along the harbour's shore and there are plenty of other free events during the year - Darling Harbour Fiesta, VIVID’s light installations and the Sydney Festival, just to name a few.
