After suffering in the heat in the aquarium we went into the zoo. Have been before. Was a bit disappointed that the butterfly enclosure was no where near as good as it use to be. Smaller and not many butterflies. Great small and air con place for visitors to our country to see many of our unique animals. For us... More

Loved this place! For me, I could've stayed watching the Tasmanian Devils for hours, they were so facinating and had lovely characters. I asked an extremely knowledgeable and friendly female member of staff nearby about them. I didn't catch her name, but wanted to say thank you for taking the time to humour my Taz questions. Lots of animals I've... More

We really enjoyed the zoo with the many Australian animals. Recommend to families. There is an opportunity to have a photo in the Koala enclosure at extra cost. Crocodile enclosure is partially covered up with the introduction of a new crocodile, whilst he's settling in. When it opens up to the public the new croc enclosure will have a great... More

One of the main things I wanted to do whilst here was to see a Koala! The zoo itself was ok, small and had way to many snakes for my liking! But then we went to the Koala Experience bit! It was amazing!!!!! We were in there for 15 minutes, two of us and paid $25! We were allowed to... More

Had heard good things, but was disappointed with how small this zoo was and how quickly it was over. Not very many animals, snakes were cool but kangaroos very disappointing. Not great value for money.

Hi Nicrennz, Thankyou for taking the time to post some feedback. It is unfortunate to hear your visit did not meet the amazing experience we strive to give to all of our guests. We are a relatively small zoo compared to other zoos, mainly due to our location, which is in Darling Harbour. This makes it easy, especially for tourists... More

We have seen many Zoo around the world. This might have been one of the smallest one. On the day, we set for zoo aquarium, and Madam T. We started with aquarium and then entered the zoo. 1 Week ago, we went to Feather dale zoo which was much better in terms of experiencing Kangaroo and Koala. This zoo was... More

Hi GandhiFamily, Thankyou for your review. We are a relatively small zoo compared to other zoos, however we manage to house a large variety of Australian animals, right in the heart of the city. We hold Kangaroo talks at 1:30pm and 4:00pm everyday, where you often have the opportunity to feed our Kangaroos. We also have a Koala Encounter experience... More

My wife and I really enjoyed our visit to the Wild Life Sydney Zoo. First, an important distinction...this is not the Taronga Zoo which is across the harbor. So, make sure you get this clear and don't end up in the wrong place (we did). Second, this is a much smaller venue and can easily be completed within 3 hours... More

We were all disappointed by this attraction which has the most complicated ticketing arrangements (book on line, but still allow a long queue to get in).

Hi DeeWhy51, Thankyou for your review. Unfortunately the queues are much longer during the school holidays as we have a much larger volume of guests coming through the attraction. By booking online before you arrive, you can save money and also skip the ticketing queues to go straight to the entrance, these lines tend to move quickly, allowing more time... More

Staying in Darling Harbour

Neighbourhood Profile
Darling Harbour
The original docklands of Darling Harbour have been transformed into a tourist mecca with entertainment for the whole family. Cockle Bay Wharf offers dining options from budget to upscale and million dollar views of the harbour. Young crowds gather on weekends for nightlife that ranges from salsa clubs to Dj’s. Families can visit the Chinese Gardens of Friendship or the Sydney Aquarium, one of the largest in the world. The Sydney Maritime Museum and the IMAX theatre are also popular attractions. The Harbourside Shopping Centre is a site unto itself, with hundreds of shops, restaurants and bars. On Saturdays in the summer, the city puts on a spectacular fireworks show along the harbour's shore and there are plenty of other free events during the year - Darling Harbour Fiesta, VIVID’s light installations and the Sydney Festival, just to name a few.
