As part of the Parliament House Tour we were taken into the NT Library which is located within the building. We were shown some local art work and photographs in relation to WWII and think we recognise a relative. The Library Staff were so helpful in providing us with information and avenues to research the photo further. The outcome will... More

Interesting story of the very recent history of the Northern Territory. Library is located in the Parliament building. Lovely little gift shop on the premises.

There are a number of items on exhibition in the entrance to the Library and many more once you get inside. There are stories and artworks on the bombing of Darwin and a giant embroidered mural which is spectacular.

We stumbled onto the Northern Territory Library when looking around the Parliament house. We viewed a very interesting display called "Lost Darwin " which was a collection of photos of how Darwin used to be, as this was our first trip to Darwin, many of the photos are of shops and bulidings that no longer exist, residents though would have... Inside the Parliament House and pleasant to have a look at and escape the humidity. There was an exhibition on about the plight of the local indigenous people and how they were housed and treated as Darwin grew. Very interesting and eye-opening. The patchwork quilt is incredible and any crafter will appreciate the work that went into making it.

Hot morning, noticed I was walking past the library so decided to pop in and have a look and enjoy some air conditioning. Small library but was family friendly. Staff welcomed me and asked if they could help me? Happy for me to have a look around and enjoy the airconditioning.

I would love to review the Library but unfortunately it has never been open in the evenings or on Sundays when I would like to access it. Surely with the amount of people visiting and living in the city 1 or 2 nights a week let alone late Saturday is not to much to ask. Other library services charge small... More

I visited this and Parliament house at the same time and found both really useful and interesting and all the better for being free.
