Gardens were average. It's obvious the area has a lot of foot traffic. Shade is great on a hot day - pretty enough, but not (in my opinion) worth any special mention.

Beautiful gardens with lots to see. Went mid week and in extreme heat so not many people around. Didn't stop us from seeing all the main areas although wanted to stay longer. Highlight for me was the large range of succulents, Japanese gardens, tropical greenhouse and kitchen garden. Especially since I was with my young grandchildren. Cafe was ideally located... More

The gardens offer a great place for a leisurely walk or to learn about the native and introduced plants in the area.

Wonderful place with a lot of things to do - kids can play at playground, enjoy quest or just walk around guessing names of different plants. Plenty of shady places and ponds can help to cool down during summer heat.

There are some really beautiful gardens here. The Japanese garden especially was my favourite. It's really well maintained and I didnt see any litter as we were walking around.

If you are heading up to Mt Coot-tha it is worth stopping at this smallish botanic garden. We enjoyed the viewing the local flora. Nicely laid out.

The newly refurbished Botanic Gardens are a great spot for all the family to visit, even on a hot day, as the foliage cover of many large trees gives numerous shaded and lawned areas to play or just wander and relax. The extensive grounds are divided into many different sections, but the Japanese Garden is a must see, and following... More

We took our visitors to these beautiful Gardens and enjoyed the guided tour that is available daily at various times. The tour was both informative and for the gardens lovers a delightful way to enjoy the day. Then lunch at the Cafe and be amused by the water dragons will come visiting.

nice gardens, plenty of space for kids to run around, secluded spots to relax, Japanese garden is a must see. I also love the Bonsai display. Food there is ordinary and relatively expensive. Personally I prefer to bring my own picnic.
