Went with grandchildren. Lovely walks following paths through bamboo and trees.lots of flowers. Dome was interesting very hot inside. Lovely cafe overlooking lagoon. Lovely setting by river. Lots of picnic sites undercover and water fountains. Only one playground which was a shame.

Just walked back to our hotel through the gardens. Stopped and looked at most of the trees and read all about them. A very pleasant stroll near the river.

Lovely location right on the river and close to the city centre. The only criticism is the lack of a cafe or similar

The park overlooks the river on one side. Lot of activity happening in different pockets around this park , Somehow not so lively, but good natural spots and lots of Birds too.

Strolled through the Botat twice in one day; once on way home from the South Bank, then again later that evening. As it is approaching Christmas, some of the trees were decked with thousands and thousands of tiny lights - what a sight!

This is one of my favourite places in Brisbane. I go there a few times through the year and it's a great place to take international guests as you can do a 5 minute by car side trip to the lookout at Mt Cootha for...More

No I am pretty sure they are not permitted entry at all to Mount Cootha Botanical Gardens due to the wildlife (waterfowl and reptiles) plus the extensive botanical collection. There are other nice parks nearby, Anzac Park... More

I agree with the above answers, duration just depends on your plans. Entry is free. There is a city bike station (bay of yellow bikes) where you can hire to ride around the gardens. They require prior online registration... More
