We have a kid who is obsessed with science so we visit science museums wherever we go. A lot of what you can see here is free. We learned a bit about local fauna and played around a bit with some of the hands-on stuff. Overall, it is not a mind- blowing science experience, but it is worth a short... More

I used to love the Science centre but it really has lost all of its charm and become a cheap looking, children's playground. It used to be appealing to all ages, have proper exhibitions and more interesting less outdated and less simplistic science.

had to go back for a second visit a week after the first, as so much to see and do...especially with the museum there as well, and GOMA next door....the special exhibits at both venues ....needed a second visit to enjoy it all

The Sciencentre is in the Southbank Cultural Precinct right in the heart of Brisbane. It is a powerhouse of scientific experiments, ideas, information, theories, and facts from prehistoric and beyond~ presented in a way that kids and adults alike, will understand and appreciate. It has various presentations, exhibitions and shows ~some are free to view, some are ticketed. All exhibits... More

We visited the Museum to go look at the Hadron Collider exhibits. This was very informative if a little on the verbal technical side......but they had lots of explanations with drawings, computer programs, videos etc etc to help explain in different ways the "Big Bang Theory" and what they have discovered. It really was very interesting. After this we explored... More

5 hours of Dinosaurs and then Science activities resulting in tired but satisfied boy & grandparents. Although entry is a little pricey (especially for a family with multiple school aged children) we did feel we got value for money. We attended both the space and sound shows & both presenters were entertaining, related very well to the children and were... More

A wide range of hands on activities classified into areas of scientific concepts. Easy to move around and excellent unobtrusive volunteers who are passionate about science are willing to share and explain the principle of activities. Centrally based across from Southbank Parklands, the Science Centre is not just pfor children.
