Unsure of itself - uninspiring 'dance' music - nasty drinks

Really looked forward to going back to The Beat after having been a frequent patron in my early twenties (about 18 years ago). Used to love the dance/techno music and have always... read more

I love this place, nice people and good music, but the bouncers should learn a bit of savoir fair. I know that they have to deal with any kind of people, but there is no need to treat people like animals.

Me and my friends arrived at the venue and were turned away because one of the couples was straight! The female bouncer was extremely rude because she was gay and hated straight people and wouldnt let people in who wouldnt get with her...but then again when you charge $12 entry you get $12 service!!!

I came here with a couple of friends over the weekend. Plenty of pre-drinking ensured a good night out. I had no problems with security and the bar staff were efficient. There are plenty of interesting characters. Just don't go if you are uncomfortable with the LGBT scene.

If I could give them -1 I would. Worst service ever ! You guys ruined my 22nd birthday by kicking me out when a drunk guy pumped on me and made me spill my drink all over my clothes ! I had around 20 people inside celebrating w me and I am never ever coming to this club again !... More

Really looked forward to going back to The Beat after having been a frequent patron in my early twenties (about 18 years ago). Used to love the dance/techno music and have always been an avid fan so booked a nearby hotel so we could come back for a weekend and get into the dance/electronica scene once again. OMG. Not sure... I love this club, especially on New year's. My girlfriend and I spent new years here and we had a fantastic time. The drag shows were awesome and highly entertaining. Being a lesbian myself, I love that everyone can get along and party despite sexual orientation. Sunday's are good too. There are fragile queens, $10 entry and $10 worth of... More

This place has the potential to be awesome. Don't be put off by the fact that some people indicate that this is a gay club - it's not. It is basically a huge techno club that lots of LGBT people tend to frequent simply because that is there scene. If you like electronic music and you're in Brisbane then this... More
