It was marvellous to travel up to Kuranda on that historic train in the morning, spending some time in the village (unfortunately with a lot of rain) and then descending with the skyrail. Had a great day despite the rather bad weather! The train winds itself up and passes lots of bridges, tunnels and offers stunning views on waterfalls and... More

If you don't mind a slow trip in old style carriages, this is fantastic. Loads of time to see the rainforest, waterfalls and some amazing hand-built tunnels and bridges. While the loco isn't steam, that's an advantage in tunnels - no smoke pouring through the train!

We had a wonderful ride up the mountain in the old train - spectacular views, impressive waterfalls, and interesting place at the top - lots to visit and see. We were due to return by the skyrail but, unfortunately, a storm closed in on us and there was plenty of thunder and lightning. The organisation has had previous experience of... More

The Journey takes you up around the mountain, through multiple tunnels where men lost their lives to a terminus at a place called KURANDRA. The local shops and eateries are a must to visit.

The scenery is spectacular, this has to be on your 'To do' list, if we go back up there this is one trip we would probably do again. Only down side, you are given a carriage number and seat number, when we went to our allocated seats they were occupied - as the train was so obviously far from full,... More
