Loved the Esplanade and Lagoon

Loved the restaurants and most of all the lagoon. Did some of the free lagoon council classes there. Great fun. Beautiful walks on sinset

This forms part of the esplanade down towards the towns central harbour / marina. Just over the road there are countless eateries. All tastes and costs catered for.

This waterfront walk is clean and well maintained. Restaurants on one side of the street. Parkland, with swimming pool, live music, and bar-b-ques nearby. Cairns waterfront just is not particularly spectacular.

As an American I found this reminiscent to smaller townships in Hawaii. Lovely esplanade filled with seaside restaurants from high end to burger with enough to suit almost any taste and preference. Quiet areas for conversation, reading and just being Can arrange tours from many tour guides with shops on the esplanade

Standard small ocean town boardwalk. Nice. There is a free pool (which they call a lagoon for some reason) on the boardwalk. You cannot swim in the ocean and during low-tide there is only a mud along the shoreline. Exactly what you'd expect in a small harbor.

Fabulous place to holiday. February great as off peak which means all restaurants (of which there are plenty) easy to get in to, no booking required. Weather generally not too bad either, can swim in netted area and all hotels have pools. Fabulous area.

Good for swimming and relaxing, in the middle of the city. Some days, the City has free sport activities in the pool!

Love the sights and sounds of the esplanade. Great food, music, lagoon, markets and sunshine with markets on the weekends.
