As a Nth Queensland resident, I found the Rainforest flora/ fauna display's excellent and very informative, learnt a couple of things about my own backyard literally. The Pandora exhibition and Dinosaur displays were also very brilliant. I did not realise they had so many actual...More

A cool retreat from the heat and full of fascinating exhibits: dinosaur displays are extensive, rainforest and reef ecosystems fascinating. There is a section dedicated to the ship that left from Townsville to round up the Bounty mutineers and rescue Captain, later Govenor Bligh. Worth...More

The Pandora exhibit was being dismantled, but still plenty to see and experience. Rainforest exhibit was great, would be very engaging for kids. "Underwater" travel was another interesting exhibit.

Thanks for your great review of MTQ! Just to clarify, the Pandora exhibition is our major permanent exhibition. The exhibition that was being dismantled was our blockbuster travelling exhibition, Dinosaur Discovery: Lost Creatures of the Cretaceous, which is going 'home' to Western Australia.

To be honest we popped in to get some cool air for an hour or so .. then .. we fell in love with the exhibits - the Pandora was fascinating, the coral , dinosaurs and our favourite the rain forest. The curators should be...More

After a lovely brekkie on the outside deck, could've spent all afternoon at the "Dinosaur Discovery" exhibit. The life size models, including T-Rex were awesome. Informative and entertaining. Unfortunately... exhibit closed July 9. I think the Titanic exhibit is next.

My niece, her husband and two young kids went to the museum on Wednesday the 12th. The two kids loved the fossil section. The touch tank was a mind blower for the kids. The whole family felt like absolute VIP's. Thank you.

Visited with 2 small children for the dinosaurs, but it was all very interesting. Managed 2+hrs, which is a lot for my kids. The dinosaur-themed activity room was really well-equipped and a great space for adults to sit down while the kids had fun, with...More

It's a cool museum. The Pandora exhibit was a shocking but interesting addition. We went for the animated dinosaurs which were very animated and great and did not kill any small humans - 4 stars.
