Wear walking shoes if going to the summit or the lighthouse - very steep climb. We did it in thongs though. Going to summit first then down to the lighthouse is the easier way to do it. Turtle rehab tour was the highlight of visiting....More

Caught the Fitzroy flyer fast ferry to the Island. The crew were great and got us there quickly. Once there was surprised at how beautiful the island is and how many things there are to do. Sadly we ran out of time to see it...More

Nice island but too many tourists, along with climate change has devastated the environment. Reef has been bleached, no private areas. Ok for families to have a swim and feed.

We went to Fitzroy Island thinking we could spend a full day of snorkeling but we were wrong. The water was too cold, coral too shallow so we spent most of the time walking around trying to find something else to do. They have a...More

Leaving Cairns on the early ferry allowed for a full day of hiking and snorkelling. We opted for the glass bottom boat and this made or snorkelling experience even better. As expected there is everything you need if it is forgotten, at island prices, however...More

My daughter hurt her foot quite badly on coral and the staff were brilliant. Thanks to Andy in particular for cleaning her up. This is such an unspoilt beautiful island where you can just lose yourself for a day and probably more. Great staff, so...More
