For us this was a once in a lifetime hike to the top. We wont do it again as it was a very long walk with our young children, but none the less, once at the top the view was incredible. If you are fit and healthy, have children that like long steep walks or no children, go for it!

Fantastic views from the top make it worthwhile, it’s not a really hard climb but it is steep and a bit challenging in places. Bring water, a snack and your camera as the views are stellar and it is serene and quiet up there.

OMG what a climb on a hot day. But once at the top the view is amazing. Take the time to read the signs and the history of the lighthouse as it is very interesting.

Takes a while to get up here especially from Eurong or Happy Valley for example but the drive is nice. Make sure you go around low tide as there are a few sticks poking out making it tricky to get around. The walk is moderate to the top so take a water bottle as there is free drinking water at... The most tranquil and beautiful place I have been. Camping up here is a must, this is a wanderful experience not to be missed . Not so many people up this end of the island and so much to do from the world war graves and battle field to the lighthouse and turtle safety areas. The dingoes are not so... More

While yet another lighthouse, still has its own characteristics to check out. Bit of a walk up to it, great views, but best part is just getting up to and enjoying the beauty of the Sandy Cape, camping, fishing, the Dunes etc, sunset over the Sea- fantastic!

Sandy Cape light house is worth the drive up the beach . The only dodgy bit on the way up is the bypass around South Nquala rocks . I had to drop the tyre pressures to 15 psi as the sand was very soft. It is prudent to reinflate back to 20 psi to avoid rim roll off issues .... More

After many, many visits to Fraser Island we finally decided to make the trek up to the lighthouse. It's a far walk, it's steep, it's uneven and if you aren't fit, it's not a great walk! But when you reach the top, the views are totally amazing and makes it all worthwhile. Definitely have to do this at least once.

Well worth the effort to reflect on the history of this special place - the Cape is a must do area of the island

One of the most beautiful and adventurous trips you could have. Driving along a beach for hours, wondering at the spectacular sand dunes, endless ocean and magnificent forests and lakes. If your an angler take your gear as there are some good fish to be caught. If you don't like sand forget, Fraser Island is the world's largest sand island.... More
