Went with a group of friends on an all-day cruise of the Whitsundays and stopped off for a couple of hours on Whitehaven beach. This was one of the highlights of my trip. STUNNING beach with yes, white sand. Even though there were plenty of boats dropping and picking up passengers, the water was calm and clear, and the beach... More

This beach is truly great, the sand is so fine that it squeaks under your feet while walking over it!Since you only get there by boat you most probably will find your self there alone, or with fellow travelers. Just a peaceful and relaxing place. There is no need to point out that the water is vibrant blue and just... More

Has to be one of the most beautiful beaches I've ever seen! And I've never seen sand so white and pure. A truly stunning place! Would go back in a heartbeat!

We stopped off there for a swim and snorkel and it is spectacular. We were out on Renegade fishing charters for a day fishing and one of the young boys wanted to have a snorkel in the crystal clear water. Benny, our skipper very kindly obliged and stopped in on our back.

this is really an amazing beach but no one mentions that it costs at the minimum $200 AU to go to there (per person). everything on the Whitsunday Islands is really expensive so beware... also, apparently only from April to Nov the weather cooperates, otherwise it rains a lot (according to the guide that took us around). the best part... does tend to reduce the precious rarity of a beautiful beach. The 2 stop day trip was worth it for the voyage around the various islands with stunning colours and shapes of land and sea. We also ran into a bit of a gale on the way back which added to the excitement up on top deck.

This is such a beautiful beach which is fairly unspoiled by humans. You must take everything you need with you, for example lots of water, sunscreen and a stinger suit (there are jelly fish about!)
