Blackebys Old Sweet Shop is the place to go if you need your back home candy fix. It has Ben and Jerry's ice cream, coffee crisp candy bars from Canada and a ton of stuff most of us haven't seen since grade school. This place was fun.

Blackeby's is an Adelaide institution, with its quirky facade and intriguing displays. It offers a vast array of local and imported confectioneries, including some which can be hard to find in Australia. This shop is a good place to visit to experience an old fashioned candy/ confectionery store, and it must be said that prices are very reasonable for the... More

If you're a Brit or US expat or visitor to Adelaide and you're looking for some home comforts or some sweet nostalgia, head to James Place (off Rundle Mall) and dive into Blackeby's. It has a huge range, better than comparable outlets in Sydney and Melbourne in my view. If they don't have it at Blackeby's, it's probably not manufactured... More

I went here because the outside design looked interesting and at first I thought it was a toy store (like D&D and Settlers games) and then realized it was candy only after I went in to look around. Basically you're looking at a festival of sugar in here and while I had some nice chocolate, the Fry Peppermint Patty was... More

We loved the window display which caught our eye so we went inside. I enjoyed looking through the candy from other parts of the world - and picked up a few of my favourite American candies. Wonderful shop, lovely staff - well worth a visit.

I used to work here many years ago and loved the people running the place (the Blackeby's business is a small family run business). They make some of their own candy in a factory here in Adelaide and also make Ditters nuts (yum). All their chocolate is of a reasonable quality (and they use a nice belgian chocolate for their... It was a big mistake coming here with the kids! They went crazy.. so many selection of candies and chocolates... and the window display is nothing like I've seen before, it's worth going there just to check out their extensive window display full of miniature figurines in candy factory and shop.

I do have a bit of a sweet tooth, so had to stop here whilst in Adelaide. I loved the outside of the shop, it really made me feel I was entering a special store full of candy and sweet goodies. There is a huge variety inside, and the lady inside the shop today was very helpful and friendly. Excellent... More

Well worth a visit, huge range of lollies, candies, chocolates and more from around the world. The front of the shop is wonderfully decorated and even has some mechanical moving parts in the front window as well as inside the shop.
