The whole family loved this place. We had kids from 5 to 15 plus a bunch of adults. The tour was pretty awesome with hands on 'water divining' plus mining for our own opals to take home. The more days you spend in Coober Pedy...More

Take the guided tour, it was amazing. Very interactive with chances to use divining rods, sit on shaft winch, watch a tunnelling machine in action and best of all, an electric pick to dig for opals. Our tour went for nearly 2hrs, but the time...More

One of the best value for money tours I have ever done. No hurry whatsoever, highly informative. Converted from a non-believer of devining to an absolute believer with one simple demonstration. Five minutes of jack hammering for opal showed me just what hard work it...More

Unlike some of the reviews here, I found the tour interesting and informative. It was surprising just how big the tunnels are. Opel mining is hard gig, tough way to earn a $. I work in the safety industry and whilst I felt safe, however...More

Brilliant tour! We all loved it. Kids all had a go at mining and had a ball. My kids now have opal fever. They're obsessed! Great value for money. Guide was great with the kids and very attentive to them.
